Very early black cloth doll with embroidered face, raised nose, wool fabric for hair, and dressed in original blue calico roller print pants, an early brown wool vest, (so great even though it has some damage), and the collar around his neck that is all that is left from his dress shirt. His arms maybe an early replacement. He is 14" tall and C. 1870.
His face is mottled color but no damage to the fabric, maybe the early dyed fabric reacted to sun over the years.
A vintage Raggedy Ann doll, height approximately 21", with everything you want in a Raggedy Ann---the mop of red wool yarn for hair, gingham or calico cloth, etc. I am hardly knowledgeable about dolls or Raggedy Ann's but I would imagine this one dates to before the early 1960's, to as early as the late 1940's. It shows its age with browned cloth, stains on face, and especially on her left sleeve, a small hole in her apron, etc...
Here is a very nice all original wooden doll that is 15" tall. She has a great painted face, jointed arms and legs, original clothes I think but at least they were made for her and they are early. Under her dress she has a wool petticoat and the a cotton one and then another cotton one and the pantaloons. She is wearing a matching bonnet. Condition is great...

This is a wonderful folk art bottle doll with a big straight smiling mouth, button eyes and one celluloid hanging earring. She is wearing a slip and over that a great black print apron that wraps under and around her head and ties in the back. It certainly is a thrown together look that appears to have been on her a long time. The apron so goes with her face. A one of a kind face for sure. She is on her original weighted glass bottle, is 14" tall and is circa 1920.
Isn't he just great! He has on original clothes, maybe the jacket was added, and in a crazy way his flowery print combo suits him. Under his jacket, both his pants and his corduroy vest are sewn on. He is cotton stuffed and very soft and floppy, so leaning against another doll or sitting in a chair helps display him.

This 18.5 inch tall Norah Wellings black doll named "DuDu" was made from 1927 to the mid 1930s in Wellington, Shopshire, England. Made of velveteen DuDU has a great character face with the much desired glass eyes and a wide brown mohair wig. The doll is jointed at the neck, shoulders, and hips. The fingers and toes are individually delineated with stitching. Doll is called 'DuDu' model 119.

A wonderful plain and simple antique black doll doorstop. This one is smaller than most and is made with a weighted can rather than a bottle. She is 10" tall and is just the right size to sit on a shelf or be used as a bookend. I like it when the stocking shows nice wear on the bottom and this one really does. See photo. This rag doll has the gift of giving comfort just by looking at her. She is a little soft, her dress has been on her forever and has wear here and there. Under her dress she is wearing undies that look original. She is all hand sewn with fairly big stitches but sewn really nicely. Her legs are large and sturdy with feet that point east and west. No big or even little boo boos other than a little hole at her mouth. Maybe too much kissing or maybe the act of feeding a little porridge now and then....

This beautiful painted face doll with big almond shaped eyes, large protruding nose and tiny pursed lips with just a touch of pink, is a great example of a folk art naive cloth doll.
Black painted hair is scalloped around her face and touches her cute applied ears. The paint is all original. She has some crazing and loss of paint on her head but it isn't flaking and not very visible from the front. Her forearms and hands are painted the same as her face. One wrist has old cloth tape around it....

Surprisingly this is and always has been a bottle doll door stop. She is beautifully dressed with layers of clothes. She has flax hair, and ink drawn face with a bit of a startled look. She has on a black hat with great posies across the front. I have had a few white doll doorstops but this is by far the best. She is 15" tall and is circa 1890.

What a great example of a folky big heavy homemade dog. His face is priceless, shoe button eyes sort of hanging there, a leather nose that dominates the lower half and no suggestion of a mouth. Somehow they eye doesn't notice that it is not there. He is made with a heavy wool twill that was mohair at one time. He has round wooden legs that have broken through the fabric at the top so now and then a little excelsior falls out. His ears are original but they look like he had a fight with a cat, ...
This very nice hand-carved wooden doll and some original paint on the face and shoulders. She has a very round head, deep-set eyes and a nose carved and protruding but still out of the one piece of wood. Her legs were inset and pegged in place. Now she is a wonderful fragment 10" tall and mounted on a professional frame. (There are a few very old worm holes, please see close-up picture.) Circa 1800-1830.
