A nicely-detailed late Victorian pin depicting a lion’s head. The open mouth grasps a 10-point old European-cut diamond, while each eye is set with a small cabochon ruby. The head is surrounded by flowing fur that hints at Art Nouveau styling. The design is similar to a tiger’s head brooch that was made by Alling & Co., and probably was made by one of Alling’s Newark competitors. The c-clasp is an old replacement. This great pear shaped ring is a real blast from the past, a blast of diamonds that is! A 1960-s beauty set in 14Kt gold and decorated by 87 diamonds. There are 43 various straight and tapered diamond baguettes set on the outer edge of the ring, while the center cluster is decorated by 44 brilliant cut diamonds.
