Anton Otto Fischer (1882-1962) German-American Artist. "WINTER STREAM" Oil on Canvas. Dimensions; 28" x 21"; site 24" x 18". Excellent condition. Fischer was born in Munich Germany, and came to NY in 1903; he died in Woodstock NY. He studied at the Academie Julien, Paris, 1906-1908. He exhibited in many museums, including the Brandywine River Museum, in PA.

A portrait miniature done by Moses B. Russell and I wish I could say more about this painting or the sitter, but the original backing paper, where Russell signed and often threatened people (incorrectly) not to remove the paper, has been removed. However, the painting was clearly done by Russell and closely mirrors one in the Metropolitan Museum...

A watercolor painting featuring a panoramic view of the eastern Sierra Nevada peaks, signed at lower left by California artist Dolores Manning. The 10" by 14" work (16" by 20" in gold metal framing) is by a woman artist who recently passed away in Malibu, California. A number of her works were available for purchase at the estate sale. Apparently she had lived in the San Francisco Bay area (Moraga, CA labels on the reverse of several) and also in the area around Lake Tahoe...

Oil on canvas colorful and skillfully painted abstract landscape of the glorious Southwest, 27 1/2" by 36" as framed, signed at lower right "Helen Peeke", and bearing the title "Indian Country" and the original price "150.00" on the stretcher. I have not been able to locate information on the artist but obviously she was a skilled painter who was able to capture the feeling of the Southwest in abstracted form. Condition is excellent and this is wall-ready.

Watercolor on paper, 12 1/2" by 9 1/2" inside the mat, 18 1/2" by 14 1/2" as framed, the subject the Museum of Wooden Architecture in Suzdal, Russia. Suzdal is in the province of Vladimir, approximately 150 miles northeast of Moscow. The work is signed at lower right by the talented contemporary Russian gallery artist NIKOLAI TROSCHENKOV (1961-) and dated there 1989, and at lower left, I'm told, is the name of the town (all this related to me by Russian speakers)...

On the back of the painting, it is written in Dutch that this is the portrait of Captain Lieutenant Daniel Mueller, 1745, a member of the ‘Constans’ regiment (a nickname in Latin meaning constant or steadfast). Early watercolor on paper of flowers, I think petunias, in a ceramic vessel, 11" by 14", 17 1/2" by 20 1/2" as framed, signed at lower right indecipherably, and possibly dated 1901. I believe the artist is likely listed, considering the quality of the drawing. The paper was laid long ago on a board, as shown. Condition of the image area is excellent, with colors true and not faded.
