Oil on canvas laid on board, 3 1/4" by 5 3/4", 6 1/2" by 8 3/4" framed, this work is almost a miniature. The subject is typical Texas: a dirt road winding into the distance in a country landscape, trees at the right. I would be tempted to say this is a typical "bluebonnet painting", featuring the famous wildflower display that anyone who has been in Texas in the spring will recall with fondness; but the signature at lower left "GOFF" is very interesting...

Verso it is signed again with the artist's name and address and is dated 1942. The colors and heavy impasto make this a beautiful dynamic painting.It is oil on canvasboard and is in good condition. Costigan has an extensive exhibition and award record at the Corcoran Gallery...

A fine example of an Abraham Parsell watercolor on organic wafer. The sitter, with brown hair and hazel eyes, is dressed in a black coat and cravat and a white shirt with gold stickpin. The background is done in the multi-color style typical of Parsell's work, as is the sketch on the reverse of the wafer.
