John Costigan, RI and NY, 1888-1972. This painting is oil on canvasboard, 16" by 19 7/8" in a 5" impressionist frame. It is signed and inscribed with the artist's address on the reverse. It is in very good condition and is in a French Impressionist frame. Costigan has an extensive exhibition and award record at the Corcoran Gallery. His work is in the Museum of Modern Art, Cranbrook, Boston Museum among others...

Provenance: Private Midwestern Collection, Kinney Fine Art, Private Collection Robert Nasso by direct descent from his Uncle, Purchased in France during the 1940's.

A fine miniature portrait painting attributed to Theodore V. Peticolas, done on natural organic material, of a nice looking young gentleman with red hair and hazel eyes. He is wearing a brown jacket edged with black velvet, a white shirt with stickpin, and a black velvet bowtie.

The condition is excellent with no problems, as is the condition of the case, which has a glazed aperture on the rear...

Haku Maki was an important Japanese modern print maker of the second half of the 20th Century. In the 1970s his work consisted of many abstract images of Chinese characters, kanji. Most are quickly recognizable by Chinese and Japanese. This one has befuddled and even annoyed some Asians who normally like Maki kanji...

He is listed in Benezit and his paintings sell for up to $75,000.

The very handsome gentleman is wearing a black ascot, white collar, white shirt with onyx studs, and a black jacket. The young boy, with fine, light brown hair, is wearing a sky blue garment with white embroidery on the wide collar.

Francoise Boucher Attr or School of : Cupids in Landscape: Pair 18th C French. This pair of oils on canvas is lovely in the quality of painting and the charming subject matter. Each panel is 28"w by 64"h. They had hinges on them as a standing screen but were later used as hanging panels. They are from a prominent french family who brought them to the USA.

Henri Duvieux, French, 1855-1882. This small jewel is a very fine example of Duvieux' work. The painting is 6" by 8" in a 4" 19th C frame. It is in good condition and is signed lower right. Duvieux was known for his atmospheric paintings of Istanbul and Venice and often painted pairs of paintings of dawn and dusk. His paintings sell for up to 25,000.

A Korean Rare/Fine Water Color Painting by Won Suk Yeon(1922-2003): ¡° A Young dancer playing a Korean Salpuri in white and red dress¡± Korea, circa 1960s, framed, and painted on paper elaborately, and signed the artist¡¯s round seal ¡°¿ø¼®¿¬¡± in Korean stamped on the lower left. A beautiful and finely painted miniature portrait painting, done in watercolor on natural material, by Thomas Seir Cummings. The sitter is a very attractive woman wearing an academic or possibly a cleric gown, and a white lace and blue material cap. The frame, which is later, is a beautiful burl wood.

The sight size is 4" by 3", and the framed size is 6 1/2" by 5 1/2". Condition is excellent, with no cracks, chips, paint loss, bowing, or restoration...

Gustave Courbet,(attributed) French, 1819-1877. La Recolte de Pommes de Terres, The Potato Gatherers is an impressive landscape with peasants harvesting potatoes in a rocky terrain. This large oil on canvas is 29"H by 36.5"W in the original 6" period frame. It has been lined and restored. Ir is signed though a ghost signature as a result of overcleaning in the 1990's. Provenance: Purchased by Jack Sartor, Dallas Art Dealer from a gallery in Pasadena, CA ca 1958...
