The 8" x 8" heavy paper document presents pertinent, highly-detailed, personal data including: name, race, age, date of birth, occupation, county of residence, height, weight, fingerprints, unusual identifying physical marks or scars, and physical description, as well as crime committed and length of sentence...

A former library copy published by Hyperion Press in 1949. The red boards show some wear, the front and back endpapers have been taped, one title page is clipped and there are library stamps. Seventy seven plates.

Possibly a first edition- cloth-bound hard cover ( no jacket) published in 1946 by the American Artists Group. Includes nine color plates by various artists along with 35 illustrations. The cover shows some wear on the edges, with a smudge and bump on the front.The end papers have yellowed- otherwise fine. 76pp.

An interesting example of cultural exchange around WWII. This book was originally published in 1936; this 1947 printing from Tokyo, while Japan was still occupied and recovering from the destruction of war, is of inferior quality as a book but a fascinating historical artefact. Broken binding reveals what appears to be re-purposed newspaper used in the creation. Covers feel to be cardboard or similar.

Here is a rare and wonderful photo collage of scenes from the building of the Alaskan Highway (completed in 1943.) Original snapshots. The center photo highlights what appears to be the official ribbon cutting; sixteen photos surround it. Below is a cartoon of a bear taking a picture of a man. Three pretty silver dollar sized 1957 5 Rupee coin, commemorating 2500 years of Buddhism in Sri Lanka. The obverse side has elephants, horses and lions (oh my), surrounded by Hamsa (Sacred Geese), this motif is an adaptation from the Anuradhapura Moonstone, the other has the denomination in Pali and English.
