This Cultural Revolution porcelain plate from Jingdezhen is decorated with an original image by the artist Liu Haihe depicting a family as the centre of revolutionary commitment. It is very skillfully and carefully painted. This plate was created during the cultural revolution and it has a mark of “Jingdezhen Art Porcelain Factory Committee” at the base. A charming expression of the Rosen Cavalier from the opera by Richard Strauss. Executed in clear crystal with a generous application of gold leaf and gold powder, it is the purity of the artist's choice of clear glass which guides the attribution to Archimede Seguso. The piece retains its label, and is in perfect condition. 13.5" x 7" x 6".

Japanese bronze suiban, or a dish to be filled with viewing stones called suiseki, as well as small plant arrangements. The rim has flower petal incision motifs while the sides are decorated by medallions and a pair of handles shaped like elephant heads. Artist's signature on bottom.

Southeast Asian brass bowl with copper and silver overlay, most likely used in a ritualistic manner. It has round, copper accents going around the top and bottom of the bowl, as well as geometric shape allover design. From our Southeast Asia Collection, a small but fine Burmese ink on palm leaf sutra with thayo embossed wood covers, depicting Buddha under the Bodhi Tree of Enlightenment flanked by two adorants in the center medallion, then encircled by disciples and zoomorphic entities in the surrounding images. The reverse side contains sutra writings in Burmese script, not yet translated...

An unusual woven basket of bamboo strips and roots in the shape of a cocoon or bird nest dating from the 20th century. It can be used flat on a table or even better suspended on the wall or pillar. It is 43 cm (17 inches) long and in excellent original condition.
