1960's Chinese green and white jadeite carving of lotus and bamboo on a custom wood stand. A frog is perched on one of the lotus leaves and a bamboo stalk in the background serves to hold calligraphy brushes or fresh flowers. In excellent condition, it measures 7.25" high, on stand 8.75" high, 5.5 across, and about 3.5" deep.
Stylized shell form by Licio Zanetti is masterfully sculpted from pure crystal. No glitz here, just pure form. The form is strong and emphasizes those visual qualities unique to glass, and demonstrates the ability of the Muranese artisans to sculpturally interpret elements from their natural environment in masterful ways. Measuring 9.5"w x 4"h x 5.5"d, signed by Licio Zanetti, the sculpture is in good condition, with normal wear at the base.

Handcrafted pill box in a layered rope design with a moving silver tassel finial. Thomas designed for Tiffany & Company before moving to Mexico and opening up her own shop.

Striking, tall, a canne verticale vase attributed to Fratelli Toso. Similar designs are shown in Leslie Pinas book "Fratelli Toso" pgs, 22-23. It requires great skill to keep the canes from spiraling, especially in a tall piece. The craftsman who made this kept the canes perfectly vertical. Composed of alternating black and opaline canes, the space between the canes appears to be silver, but on closer inspection the spaces are clear glass which allow light to pass through the piece...

Very nice piece of Chinese hardstone fruit. The leaves are a translucent green jade with the persimmon being rose quartz. There are two small legs in the back for positioning and stability. In excellent condition, it measures as displayed 4" across.

A fine Japanese lid rest or futaoki as it is known in the tea ceremony. The lid rest is done in a technique known as karakane or bronze and has been hammered. The tachizuru or motif of standing cranes is often seen in various tea accessories representing the rise of auspiciousness. A hand-embroidered bag made by Pashtun nomads from Ghazni province (probably Katawaz), Afghanistan. Floral motifs combined with arabesques in herringbone stitch in silk thread on a purple silk background. The Bokhara couching technique is used to maximum effect, where the metallic threads are laid parallel to each other and fastened at regular intervals by tiny red stitches. Blue beads adorn the edges to ward off the evil eye. The interior of the bag is lined in a blue printed fabric...

A large Murano glass fish figurine with silver flecks and variegated color splashes, designed in the style of Dino Martens (for Aureliano Toso). The figurine is 16 1/4 inches (41,3 cm) tall and 7 1/2 inches (19 cm) wide. Except for some roughness at the bottom of the tail (probably as made), it is in fine condition. It is made in green and clear sommerso glass. Unsigned - remnants of a large yellow sticker on bottom (please see last picture).

It is worthy of mention that this vase is much larger than the typical Asti vase made in this decor, which are around 9 inches tall. It is in excellent condition. An old Uzbek puttee dating from the 1950s or 1960s. Silk embroidery on an ivory linen ground, embroidered in long and short stitch, the trademark of Uzbek embroidery. Condition is very good, some staining on one side. It measures 8.3 cm x 58 cm (w/o string). The string measures 31 cm. Puttees are a strip of cloth wound spirally around the leg from the ankle to the knee.

Slender and elegant vintage modern glass Nerox lamp by Ermanno Toso is constructed of cool blue and green opalino murrine. The colors remind me of the cool tones of the Venetian Lagoon which has inspired glass design in Murano for centuries. I've seem a pair of this design sell at auction for $9000.! The lamp measures 28.5" to top of glass and 40" to top of bulb socket, is in good condition, and would look great with a slender cylinder shaped shade.
"Tiffany Windows" murrines vase by Fratelli Toso is documented in Leslie Pino's "Fratelli Toso, Italian Glass 1854-1980", P. 68. This vessel is amazing in good light and an excellent example of the Murano glassblowers' skills. The transparency of the murrines allows the light to flow through nicely and remind one of the "colors of Murano." The Tiffany Windows series dates to the 1960's. This beauty is 6" tall and in in perfect condition.
