Beautiful and old butter rod guide, this long-handled model is characteristic of the Tamang ethnic group and of the Rameschap places. The surface is finely and richly carveded with symmetrical patterns inspired by basket weaving. The 2 medallions located at the top certainly bore the faces of a protective ancestor. There are obvious signs of use at the level of the large orifice which serves as a guide for the churning stick (local name is "mandani")...

It is 6.65 inches (15 cm) in inner circumference by 2.25 inches (5.8 cm) inner diameter. The tourmaline is 21.9 mm long by 18.4 mm wide. The jadeite is 20.2 mm-20.8 mm long by 16.4 mm wide. It is 56.5 gram.
It has tarnished silver, surface wears and scratches, and inclusions at the plaques (as seen in the photos).
