This 1950~1960 carved wood fisherman is 7” high, 2 ½” wide and 2 ¼” thick. It depicts a smiling fisherman holding the catch of the day. The pant leg is rolled up on his left leg; so, he looks like he just walked out of the water. It is in great condition.

Japanese kiri wood round Hibachi, Ca. 1940's, used entire whole width of tree and showing bold beautiful grains, 12 1/2" diameter-outside maximum measurement, 8" high. Some scratches on the outer wood surface, no restorations, no damages.
Vintage Japanese wooden kogo (box for incense during tea ceremony), its cover carved in a shape of the Zen Patriarch Daruma wearing a monk’s cape, and with gold lacquer on the inside. Beautiful dense fruitwood, carving is done in ittobori (one cut) style characteristic for the Hida school of carvers. Wonderful face, in excellent condition. Signed KAZUICHI SAKU (made by Kazuichi) on the bottom. Diameter 2.1 inches, height 1.5 inches. Part of a small East Coast kogo collection.
