Vintage Chinese soapstone small scholar’s rock carved to represent a Taihu stone with numerous perforations and crevices. Beautiful Liaoning green soapstone with excellent waxy surface, extraordinary carving, in superb condition. Wonderful object for a scholar’s desk. Base length 1 1/4 inches, total height 3 1/8 inches.
Wonderful hexagonal latticed bronze hanging lantern with electrical bulb. Very art deco. Each panel has glass behind the lattice work to throw off an ambient light. 12" tall by 10" wide. Ask for shipping quote.
DESCRIPTION: A Chinese celadon jade pendant, both sides well carved in the form of an archaic mask and strung on a black nylon cord with a round celadon jade bead. Such amulets have a long history in China and would have been worn as a mystical protector against all unseen evil and bad luck. This handsome jade pendant is quite wearable and in excellent condition. DIMENSIONS: 2 ¼” long (5.7 cm)

1940s - 1950s, Chinese moss agate low slung lotus style brush washer. The moss agate shows nice markings being genuine and is a light grey/green to darker green in color. The rim has two lotus flowers and two seed pods placed around the undulating and curling top. Condition is excellent having the normal characters of this type agate, which are natural indentations. Having a very lovely shape and design, it measures 6.25" x 5.5" x .75" high.
A Japanese cast bronze Okimono of an octopus moving across the sea floor. Its eight legs and large head depicts this true-to-life mollusc in motion. The two large eyes constantly observe its surroundings ready to shoot its ink at any predator.

Very large doll made by a known carver. H. 40,5 cm. Second quarter of the 20th century. Condition: both arms reattached. Lovely honey brown patina. The style of this Akuaba with its unusual coiffure is described in the book ‘Akua’ba Asante Wednesday Child’ by Ron van Doorn and Herbert M. Cole.

Vintage brass “puja kalash” water or milk container used in ritual Hindu ceremonies from Southern India, H: 13cm/5.1in x D: 12cm/4.8in. Very finely turned in a simple but elegant shape and quite heavy, near 1kg- and signed (noted in enlargements), appears to be unused but with some patina- made circa mid 20th century.
Japanese mid 20th century pure silver pair of cranes and bronze tortoise on large bronze base. The base is done as a small rocky hill with bamboo growing. Done in a wonderful design with great detail. Each crane is marked JUNGIN, or pure silver. The base is signed KATSUNORI, in back. The entire piece measures 22" wide, 18" tall and 14" deep.
Vintage pair of Chinese porcelain fu-dogs. Sculpted with a sense of whimsy and great detail, one fu-dog crouches with his elaborately swirling tail in the air, the other lays on her belly. Though their other name, shishi, suggests their lion-like qualities, this pair with their long flapping ears have a more dog-like appearance. Glazed with a lovely translucent blue crackle glaze with wide black glazed eyes...

The Djompre are a small ethnic group with their homeland in the Benue Plateau State in northern Nigeria. They call themselves Kutep or Kutev, the denomination Djombre - which means cannibals - has probably been given to them by the neighbouring Chamba.
Finely crafted, detailed serpentine jade carving of a male figure in standing position, holding a fan with the left hand, comes with a wood base, 4.5 inches in height, condition consistent with age without any issues.
