The Chinese dragon, the most powerful symbol of good fortune, is predominately depicted on the lid of this marvelous Canton enamel box. A perfect size for displaying in your home, it measures about 5.5 inches diameter.

A fine Japanese antique Satsuma tripod koro with lid. Decorated on one side with a group of children playing and on the other side a garden scene with flowers against a fence. The domed cover decorated the same with a seated foo dog finial resting on a ball. Resting on three animal head legs. All highlighted with gilt.

Age: Meiji Period (19th Century)

Condition: Very good condition. There is a small chip on the mane and the tail of the foo dog.

Pair of Korean black lacquer over brass vases with mother-of-pearl inlay. The brass is re-purposed from unused artillery shells and the vases are heavier than one would expect. One of the rim looks a little irregular, but the were purchased in Japan, as is, in the first half of the 20th Century. They measure about 7 inches high.

Middle Eastern lost wax Silver alloy and Lapis snuff bottle. The body is made of braided coils and set with fine quality lapis with silver flecking,the piece is cast in silver alloy and tarnish very quickly. Size H 3 3/4" W 2.5" weight 47g

A teal colored cloisonne enamel vase with peony and vine decoration within fine silver wire and with subtle blue on yellow hues accenting the petals and leaves. Two character signature on the silver footrim and in the box (and with printed material) accompanied when acquired. Excellent condition. Height, 8 1/2 inches

Rather unusual Japanese porcelain obidome / netsuke in a shape of a mask of a female theatrical character Waka-Onna. Obidome is worn on an obi cord that holds the obi sash together, and is the only type of jewelry worn by Japanese women on formal occasions. Very clever design, excellent modeling and enameling - see her crisp features and delicate toning of the face. Bar on the back for an obi or netsuke cord, in perfect condition. Signed KOSUZU on the back...

This eye-catching porcelain plate features a Red Guard (Hongweibing) broadcasting on the radio with a background of the Great Wall. A slogan that reads “Qian Qiu Gong Zui, Wo Men Ping Shuo” ( We [the people] will decide the merits and demerits [of history] ) is on the plate. Like other work created by Wu, this plate was first drawn in brown then coloured with a second and/or third layer to create a 3D effect...
