Japanese glass obidome (sash ornament) with flowers floating on a stream with air bubbles and silver foil flakes. Obidome is worn on an obi cord that holds the obi sash together, it is the only type of jewelry worn by Japanese women on formal occasions, and could serve as netsuke as well. A wonderful sterling and cut glass muffineer measuring 8 ½ inches tall. The glass is by Pairpoint and is cut with sprays of foliage and is mounted in sterling fittings by Spalding & Co.. The underside of the sterling foot is marked “Spalding & Co., Sterling, 925/1000, 164.” Spaulding & Co. of Chicago was incorporated in 1888 and was then taken under the control of Gorham in the 1920s. The muffineer is in beautiful condition.
A Song Dynasty Ruyao Sky-Blue Glazed Floral Gu Vase Gracefully glazed in sky-blue, the ceramic vase is shaped after an earlier bronze vessel. Its outstanding design and firing technique are typical of the ceramic-making craftsmanship of ruyao kiln as developed in Song Dynasty.

This really pretty green Colonial, aka Knife and Fork, depression glass two-handled sugar bowl with lid was made by Hocking Glass from 1934 to 1938. This sugar bowl measures 6 3/4 inches high to the top of the knob on the lid X 4 inches in diameter not including the handles. A purple bowl of swirl shape in the style of Beranek – Skrdlovice – or Klinger – Zelezny Brod Sklo /ZBS. The Czech glassworks like many other industries were nationalised. This bowl originally must have been produced for the Skoda car factory since it bears the Skoda mark (in use from 1929). Length "5½/ 14 cm. Condition: wear to the base and a scratch mark near the base.

This circular jade (nephrite) pendant (or plaque) is 2 ¾” in diameter and 3/16” thick. It is a late 19th century product. It is carved on both sides and depicts a young boy holding a court tablet “Hu.” The boy is riding on a dragon headed carp and is surrounded by lucky clouds. In Chinese culture, this is a very popular subject. For centuries, passing governmental examinations offered a life time of opportunities for a young man and his family...
