French Majolica knife rests from the 1950s, a pair. Handmade, unsigned but likely from Vallauris, the foremost ceramic centre in postwar France, also favoured by artists like Picasso. Length c."4/ 10 cm. Condition: a small glaze flake to the tip of the tail of one dove (cf. pic 3 and 4).

Small silver bow earrings by Karl Erik Palmberg for Alton, renown makers of Swedish modernist jewelry. KEP was Alton’s chief designer. Width "1/2 / 14 mm. Marks: KP, F for the town of Falköping where Alton was based, the Swedish hallmark (three crowns and S) and year mark X8 for 1948. Condition: fine.

A pair of 7-5/8" x 5-1/4" Belgian crystal side salad dishes by Val St. Lambert. These clear cut crystal table accessories have the VSL acid stamp initials and the original paper tags (never used); they are in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs. A set of four fans (uchiwa) made of bamboo and washi (Japanese hand-made paper). Each has hand-painted pictures and signs such as three kabuki "kumadori" which is special makeup of the kabuki player and Otahuku. All have the same written seal marks, however the name of the artist is not clear. Two are painted with kakishibu (persimmon tannin) 20th century. In excellent condition. W:30.5cm H:35.5cm

A 1950's pottery bowl from Vallauris in French Provence."Modernist" irregular shape and sgraffito decoration, typical of Borty. Width "5 ¼/ 13,5 cm. Condition: minimal rim frits.

5 Japanese Noritake Peony flowering tree design deep wide soup bowls or dishes, 8 1/2" diameter, 2 1/2" high, marked "Tremont, US design Pat. applied for" and Noritake China, Japan" on the bottom. The condition is good.

Interesting early Deco gilt metal pendant of Chinese shape. The front with an enameled motif of a lady with Chinese hairstyle busy with needlework in front of a smoking scenser, all within a keyfret border. The back with a cracked ice border surrounding a willow tree and ducks in a pond. Probably French, around 1920. Width "1 ½ / 3.7 cm. Condition: fine, except for a darker spot to the back, visible from a certain angle (cf. last photo).

This beautiful Tiffin whisper-thin, blown glass compote features medallions or cameos of dancing nudes with scarves. The cameos are acid etched and show satin glass as the background. It measures 6 1/2" across the cut and finished rim and stands 2 3/4" high. This bright beauty is in excellent condition. I have other Tiffin and elegant glass in my inventory... take a peek. A pair of boro tabi (socks) with sashiko. The lining is thin cotton cloth. It has four metal straps. Both soles are lost. The first half of the 20th century. H:12.5cm, L:27cm

American needlework sampler I would date to about 1935-1950, hand embroidered in traditional style, silk thread on cotton, the imagery of a house and tree, the sweet message being "Here let us live Life at its Best/ Here my we find/ Comfort and Rest". No glass, good vintage condition, some faint old very light brownish staining to background.

This vintage Turkmen Tekke child's bib or collar is hand-embroidered in silk thread with cotton tassels. Shoulder to shoulder measures 19" and the front is 9 1/2" with a 3" fringe. The reverse is a printed cotton fabric and the embroidery technique features the traditional gul-i-badam ("almond flower") motif which is generally found only on Turkmen embroideries from Afghanistan. Condition is excellent and its estimated age is late 20th century.

Dancing Nymph is the correct name for this Consolidated pattern - it's sometimes called "Dance of the Nudes" due to listings in depression glass books under that name. Made in 1928, it's a wonderful pattern for the deco collector as well as glass lovers. This is the footed sherbet in crystal. Perfect condition. I have 3 available, price is per sherbet. A small beaker vase by Danish designer Just Andersen (1884-1943). Of flaring form, the simplicity of the shape accentuated by stripes near mouth and foot-rim. Marks: Just, GAB (a Swedish company for which Just Andersen worked from c 1930), model number 1162 and 1931 for the year. Height "2/ 5 cm. Condition: fine.

This figural glass lamp was produced by L.E. Smith Company during the 1940's - 50's. The color was fired on over clear glass, giving the opaque finish. This style is referred to as the 'Southern Belle' lamp. I have 2 available. Both have been re-wired so they work fine. The shade clips on the light bulb. (Bulb not included, I recommend 25 or 40 watt bulbs so the glass doesn't get too hot.) Please specify which you'd like. All are in good shape.
