OLD 1890’s Venetian SALVIATI SEA HORSE Art Glass Compote Base!!! The piece is the bottom half of a compote, but its extremely rare to find one anywhere! The last one I saw sold for over $5,000!!! Even though the piece I have is the bottom part, I think it is an amazing example to have for any collector. The Seahorse has GOLD FLECKS throughout, with an applied harness with little pink dots. This is a super-clean, excellent example of an Imperial Japan, Military, Type Gunto 1943, or better known as Type 3. It dates back to Word War II, when it was developed as an improvement over the Type 98 sword. It is mounted on a beautiful, heavy, very clean blade, in excellent condition, with a cutting edge that measures 27 inches. It displays a straight hamon and it is very sharp...

Soft wood (probably pine) carved shore bird decoy, likely 19th century, with authentic wear including missing paint, pellet holes, and broken off beak. The work measures approximately 9 1/2" by 6" extreme dimensions, not including the wood base. The eyes appear to be metallic tacks. I am not a decoy specialist but wonder if this might be by any recognized carver. In any event, the piece is a great example of folk art Americana.

This is a vintage Japanese pottery tea bowl of Hagi ware, which was made by the great potter, the 14th Shinbei Sakakura (1917-1975) about 60 years ago. The glaze has a variaton of light red and grayish colors, intermitted by golden lines of the kintsugi.

He was one of the greatest potters of Hagi ware, who was identified as an important human cultural treasure of Yamaguchi prefecutre, Japan in 1972.

The seal of the potter is stamped on the bottom...

Fine quality carafe with matching glass or tumbler which fits over top of carafe, both in blue and white swirled designs on clear glass, polished lip and bases, signature, mid century era. The blue is cobalt, it appears to have a turquoise hue in some of the photos. Measures 7 1/2" high with glass on top, carafe alone is 6 1/2" high and roughly 4 1/2" wide, the glass is 3 7/8" high and 2 3/4" wide. The swirl design is very precise, the sign of fine quality glass, and it is heavy as well...

Japanese Chestnut color wooden Sake Barrel, Ca. 1940, 7" high, 11 1/2" diameter top rim, wrapped around with twisted Bamboo ropes, and stopper, signed Kanji writings on the bottom outside. The condition is good.

Handpainted pedestal cup and saucer with a woman with a cherub playing a mandolin. There is another cherub painted on the back side of the cup. There is the behive mark on both cup and saucer, and the bottom of the cup is marked "Musik." It is in perfect condition with no chips, cracks or repairs, and the gold is also perfect.

This lovely rolled rim console bowl may be by Tiffin Glass. It is a soft, satin heather-green with embossed fish and stylized waves surrounding the rim. This bright centerpiece bowl sits on a finished satin collar foot and measures 10 1/2" across. It is in very good condition and would brighten any dining table.
