Hanging from the belt are beaded strands in graduated lengths with each strand ending with a cowrie shell. There is a cord tie attached so that the belt can be tied at the back of the wearer. A beautiful Murano glass candlestick, made by Barovier & Toso, around 1950, in their gold-flecked 'Corodonato d'Oro' decor. The candlestick is 5 1/2 inches (14 cm) tall and 4 5/8 inches (11,7 cm) wide. It is without chips, cracks or repairs (there is some wax-drippings and black soot build-up, which are to be expected in a candlestick - please see pictures).

This is an early 20th Century cloisonne smoking set. Set includes a hinged cigarette or cigar box, an ashtray, and a matchbox holder. Some minor damage, but still considered in good original condition. The cloisonné design is of a boat which is somewhat hard to find.
Sophisticated faceted vessel's purity of form and color suggest Flavio Poli. I have seen similar types of pieces attributed to Poli. The smoke and golden interior colors are soft and appear to float. This piece is in good condition and is the essence of good modern minimalist design. Measuring 1.5"x1.5"x5"h, the form retains a worn but readable import label.

An impressive Art Déco period ceramic mantel clock set, marble glazed. From the 1920’s, French or Belgian, unmarked. Width of centre piece " 12 ½ / 32 cm, height of side pieces "6 ½ / 17 cm. Condition: The original clock has never been repaired (works only sporadically) and there are a few rim frits to the back (cf. last picture).

Vintage Japanese incense stick container carved out of kurogaki (black persimmon) wood, the body with dense leaf design, and the cover with fine lattice design and an oval reserve containing the the character FUKU (happiness. Excellent sharp work, very pleasant to handle, the cover fits neatly, beautiful patina. Very good object for a scholar’s desk. Length 9.25 inches.
