Fine Large Glazed Stoneware Jar - Malcolm Pepper

This impressive stoneware jar was made by Malcolm Pepper (1937 - 1980) during the 1970s. It is "heavily-potted" and very attractively decorated as our detailed images show; no further description is needed!

Height 24 cm (9.5 inches), diameter 31 cm (12.25 inches). It is in perfect condition.

Old Chinese Famille Rose Porcelain Ji-Gong Monk

It is 11.2 inches (28.5 cm) tall by 8.9 inches (22.6 cm) wide. It is 4 Lb.

It has dark spots, chips at the leaves and fan, stains, hairline cracks at the bottom, repairs at the finger (glued back) and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

A finely carved lime box, its body in the form of a cone surmounting a flaring cylinder, decorated with three levels of an elaborate geometric design which is changing at each level. The stopper itself is decorated with two human heads back to back surmounting the neck adorned with a necklace. A bone spoon and a bone point are attached to the stopper, the link adorned with wood beads and tiny old glass beads. Fine age patina. Indonesia, Timor island. Height: 16.5 cm. Very good condition.

Set of 3 George VI sterling silver napkin rings. Made by Turner & Simpson Ltd in Birmingham in 1939. Hexagonal with allover engine-turned ornament in thin plain frames. Netsuke of standing Jurojin (one of the 7 Gods of happiness, usually associated with longevity) holding a scepter with reishi fungus head, wearing a cape, a long robe and a spotted deer (the animal is a symbol of longevity) skirt. There is a nice detail for a netsuke lover - he is wearing an inro suspended by a manju netsuke. Excellent carving - see the detailing of his portrait quality face, incised fingernails, texture and spots of the deer skirt. Superb quality staining, beautiful patina...

Vintage Chinese soapstone small brush rest carved to represent a Taihu scholar’s rock with numerous perforations and crevices. Beautiful Yunnan pink soapstone with wonderful carving, compressed dust on the surface, in great condition. Wonderful object for a scholar’s desk. Length 2.82 inches, height 0.94 inches.

This is a set of five pretty Light Blue Tiffin Etched Sherbet Champagnes. We do not know the etched pattern name.
