This attractive small porcelain jar, a brush washer, was made during the Hongzhi reign (1488 - 1505) of the Ming Dynasty. It is relatively heavily-potted and decorated in underglaze blue of good colour in a pattern featuring scrolling lotus blossoms. Both inner and outer surfaces are coated in a finely-crackled glaze. A wood water basin was nicely carved in shape of a lotus leaf with a lotus pond.
It was preserved in very good condition by nice brownish patina.
Some of the seeds in the lotus pond were still movable when some were sticked but nothing is missing.

An antique six panel Chinese coromandel screen with motif of birds and flowers inlaid with mother of pearl and semi precious stones. This style of screen emerged during the Ming dynasty in China and has been favored in Europe for centuries. Each element of detail has been masterfully rendered. The lacquer is in wonderful original condition showing a lusterious rich finish.

A seated bronze figure of Buddha in the earth-touching gesture. The Buddha sits on a platform with openwork scroll patterns. The face is round with facial features done in an free and unusual manner that give a tranquil, meditative expression.

Period: Burma 17th/18th Century

Condition: Good. There is a tubular opening at the back of the platform perhaps for a canopy.

A very thinly potted small blue and white Ming dynasty saucer. It is so thinly potted that if held against the light, we can see through it. The centre of the saucer has a flower that looks like a lotus pod in a double circle. The porcelain is slightly grayish in colour. It has the Cheng Hua (1465-1487) six character mark and of the period.

There are minor firing faults with frittings and chips along the rim and base. No hair line crack. Generally in good condition.
