A very rare gilt bronze Buddha, Southern Thailand Sri Vijaya/Javanese inspired local style, ca. 11th.-13th. century AD.

The Buddha stands erect with his right hand raised in abhaya mudra and his left gracefully extended alongside his body

Wonderful archaic Southern SE Asian style of his face with the pronounced brows, a flat nose and thick lips. His eyes are thick and downcast and he wears a slight smile. He is standing on a square pedestal.

An large and exceptional bronze oil lamp with handle in shape of a leaf and pyramid-shaped, pierced lid. Byzantine, 5th - 6th century A.D.

The lamp is finely engraved and well built. A substantial and very elegant bronze lap with beautifully patinated surfaces. Interestingly, an openwork lid was chosen for it in antiquity, perhaps since it became to hot with a closed tight lid, due to the large size and construction.

A wonderfully preserved massive Iron hatch with lock for an oven or a chimney, European, Renaissance, ca. 1480-1520.

The hatch is finely decorated with large attached rosettes and rivets and the still functioning lock ends in a twisted grib in the gothic form. Possibly Danish or Northern German and comes from an esteemed Danish private collection.

Collection of Late Antiquity clay lamps. Eastern Mediterranean and biblical! Among them a scarce and beautiful frog lamp (length 8,7cm). 19 pieces!

Condition: F-VF, Weathered and with some smaller missing fragments, overall well preserved.

A massive and rare excarvated bronze vessel, likely for the storage of liquids, Byzantine, 6th.-9th. century AD.

Horisontically ribbed body and carinated vertically ribbed shoulder with funnel mouth.

Made in solid metal in a fine vase-like shape, with holes for attaching it to chains. A utility vessel, used for containing foods or liquids.

Size: 34-35 cm. wide and around 35,5 cm. tall, weight 4,2 kilograms - a HUGE piece for this early vessel!

A fantastic large and perfect condition Iron lock, possibly from a large chest or a massive door, South-Germany, Renaissance period, 16th. century.

A very early lock with Gothic decoration of the details of the finely preserved locking mechanism. A snap lock with two bolts for extra security.

A pristine Iron doorhammer in the finest Late Medieval / Gothic style, European 14th.-15th. century.

The hammer head in the shape of a deers head and the horn and shaft finely twisted, the nails for inserting it into a thick wooden door are still finely preserved as well.

Size: 27 cm. total length.

Condition: Superb! Very unusual item for this early period. Fine metal with black patina.

A very attracvtive and rare type of lock for a hatch or locking bar, likely Northern Italian, ca. 15th. century.

A square plate lock with some fine, strictly gothic renaissance carved and punched iron decoration.

Size: 12, 7 cm. in diameter by 11,7 cm.

Condition: The lock extremely attractive and in a wonderful old collection state with nice greyish iron patina, and lovely metal and very little corrosion.

Interesting large amuletic seal in marble, probably crusader period, 11th.-13th. cent.

The seal was found in Eastern Anatolia / Western Mesopotamia - old crusader land. It was described in the large collection as a 'mystery seal', due to it's strange form and depiction on the seals base.

Finely carved in white marble with uncleaned parts of brown enbedded sand. The amulet in itself had the shape of a veiled Virgin Mary. The engraving on the base looks like knight, wearing ...

Finely made with a slightly trapezoid cross-section and very thick in hard red stoneware. Green glazed with 4 rampant lions on one of them and the other with Fleur de Lis. Stoneware under an opaque turquoise and cobalt glaze with floral design and markings in black. Wonderful 'grazing' of the glaze and with irriscence.

Condition: Near Extremely fine for type, completely intact with small area of touched up glaze on the back. No repairs and exceptional gloss and patina.

A high quality Greek icon from the secluded Monastery of Athos, Greece, sealed and dated 1892.

Icon with Hodegetria. Tempera on chalk ground. Wooden panel. Gilded nimbs, ancient Greek inscriptions. Rare light colouring and with the wonderful makers seal of the Athos Monastery on reverse, recessed into the wood.

An ancient Early Medieval bronze Neck Torc, Baltic Vikings of the Rus, ca. 10th. century AD.

A torc with a terrific patina and of the beautiful Twisted design leaving the part of the Torc that would have rested on the neck smooth. Terminals as stylized animal heads.
