A well decorated Chinese Imari export plate with underglaze blue and overglaze red, orange and gold. The scene of flowering plants and a Chinese fence covers the face of the plate, from the rim on one side, across the center and onto the opposite rim. There is a single blue line at the outer border and a brown edge. The back is decorated with blue and red trailing flowers and has an unglazed foot. Probably the first quarter of the 18th century. 8 5/8 inch (22 cm) diameter.

The thin shaped porcelain dish with a fluted rim that extends to a lobed edge is well decorated in underglaze blue with four large panels of flowers separated by four small panels of flowers surrounding the center decorated with a flowering plant and a flying insect. On the back are two flowers with trailing leaves and in the center the four character Kangxi mark enclosed in a double circle, all in underglaze blue. Diameter 5 3/8 inches (13.5 cm) and height 1 inch (2.5 cm).

A watercolor on paper of a castle on the water with a boat and three women walking on the shingle in the foreground, a row boat on the water and the castle in the distance against the sky. Pale blue slip Pratt Ware pitcher with sprigged decoration c. 1810 A very well decorated bulbous pitcher with vertical sprigs of grape vines and a plant with green leaves and blue flowers (?) with a molded and decorated spout, blue bands and a molded stepped base. It is approx. 4 inches tall and 6 ½ inches from the spout to the end of the molded handle. A blue ground mug with similar grape vine is illustrated in John and Griselda Lewis Pratt Ware 2006 edition page 211.

A pair of good opaque opaline vases lavishly decorated with bouquets and sprigs of hand painted flowers as well as gilt rings at the top and around the foot. The bases with slightly hollow ground pontils. The style is typical of the French from the middle of the 19th century. Height 11 ¾ inches (30 cm).

Condition: no damage to the glass, some wear to the gilding around the top, especially on one.

Nicely decorated with hand painted floral bouquets and sprigs on a hard paste porcelain a trembleuse cup, cover and saucer. The rims are dental gilt as are the fruit and leaves knop and two handles. No marks but French in form and decoration from around 1780. Saucer is 6 ¼ inches (15.5 cm) diameter and 1 ½ inches (4 cm) tall. The cup is 4 inches (10 cm) tall and 5 ½ inches (14 cm) across the double handles.

Condition: No chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Minor gilding wear.

Porcelain hand painted figure of a musician playing a lute(?). The original by Bustelli was modeled in the mid-18th century. This is a later copy, after 1887 when the factory was taken over by Albert Baumi and the old models revived. Nymphenburg shield and the numbers 59 and 0 impressed on the underside. 4 5/8 inches (11.7 cm) tall and 5 3/8 inches (13.5 cm) across the base.

Condition: undamaged except for three of the four tuning pegs and part of the red bow on his left shoe missing.

A 12 ¼ inch (31 cm) diameter blue and white delft charger made at Lambeth, London toward the end of the 18th century. The “Chinese garden” is well executed as is the border on the lip. A plate with the same decoration is at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

Condition: chips around the edge and a few places on the lip where the glaze has flaked off.

A set of tiles with a letter of the alphabet on each tile; one side with the small letter and the other side with it in capitals. Interestingly the small “s” is in the form of a small “f”, known as a “long s.” Its use was archaic by the early 19th century and since these types of tiles are thought to be used to teach spelling it seems likely that they would date from no later than the early 19th century. A Doccia master salt circa 1770; the molded form is a copy of a silver form. The piece is decorated with red enamel flowers with gilt highlights. Doccia was founded circa 1735 near Florence and continues to produce porcelain. Height is approximately 1 ½ inches (3.8 cm). Length is 3 ¼ inches (7.6cm) and width is 2 5/8 inches (5.1 cm).

Condition: Chipped foot with slight discoloration on foot, otherwise nice.

The master salt is made in an unusual form with bright decoration. Sold

A well decorated, marked and monogrammed hard paste porcelain compote. A band of peach ground with a finely detailed border of gilt decoration interspersed with green highlights and thin red lines surround the base and the top rim both on the inside and outside. In the center is a hand painted bouquet of blue/purple flowers (probably Anemone) with a hovering moth. The monogram, difficult to read other than the “R,” is painted on two sides of the stem. A marked Meissen match safe from the late 19th century for those matches that were struck on any rough surface. The rough surface is on the inside of the top. The box is a rectangle with cut corners and curved sides. The outside of the top is stepped with blue bands marking each step to the flat top, the sides of the lower portion curve inward to a low foot. A well potted round covered box with underglaze blue decoration and extensive gilt outlining of the pattern of a bird in a bush. The Meissen crossed swords mark on the bottom is typical of the late 19th century. There is also in underglaze blue the number 46, which is probably the identification of the painter of the scene. Height 2 ½ inches, diameter 3 ½ inches (6 by 9 centimeters).

Condition: no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Very slight gilding wear.

A nice watercolor portrait of a young man, probably in his mid-teens, signed, “Elinor M. Barnard/1933.” The young man with brown hair and eyes wearing an open necked white shirt leans into the picture plane with a sense of youthful eagerness.
