Antique Japanese bronze usubata, Meiji period. The usubata are used for floral arrangements, like a vase. This usubata is striking with a dragon supporting the vessel with one of its arms as its back arches. It measures 9" tall 12" wide at base.

Antique Japanese pair of bronze three section lanterns. Tall finials in flame shapes adorn temple style lids and small bronze bells hanging from the edges. Would have originally been used with well light candles, the pair is perfectly matched. The caged midsection has reticulated spiral design walls, which stands on large bell shaped feet. Beautiful simple Korean bandaji (blanket storage chest). Made of solid kayak (Elm) wood with dramatic natural wood grain. Gorgeous original iron hardware with large lock and hinges with cut out motifs. Hinged in the front for storage access. Early 20th century. Size: 28 1/2" high x 32" wide x 19 1/4" deep.

Antique Chinese low cabinet. The upper portion has two drawers over a compartment opened by two cabinet doors. The doors swing on wooden dowel hinges which seat into small decorative carved peony flowers. The interior of the cabinet has one shelf. The front is finished with a rich red lacquer while the sides and top are a dark, distressed reddish brown lacquer finish.

A vintage Japanese 2 section Tansu chest made entirely of Kirinoki (Paulownia) wood. All original bronze hardware with straight dovetail joinery and hardened wooden nail construction. 3 drawer top section and 2 drawer bottom section. Rare faience (blue green glazed) clay Egyptian scarab amulets on a custom stand. Scarabs were popular amulets and impression seals in Ancient Egypt. Egyptian faience is a non-clay based ceramic composed of crushed quartz or sand, with small amounts of calcite lime and a mixture of alkalis, displaying surface vitrification due to the soda lime silica glaze often containing copper pigments to create a bright blue-green luster. Each mounted on a single custom antiqued bronze mounts.

A rare antique Japanese very large size bronze Giboshi (bridge post finial). The upper section represents the sacred Hoju, a jewel that brings dreams into fruition. Also, its form symbolizes an onion which is thought to ward off evil spirits. It is of unknown Japanese origin but by its shear size, it would have been used in a Shinto Shrine building or a large footbridge.

Antique Chinese ovoid form ink stone carved of green serpentine and inscribed with calligraphy on one side and archaic script on the reverse. The text on the front of the ink stone references a quote from the Analects of Confucius:

Antique Japanese bronze hiten (Sanskrit, apsara), celestial musician. Seated on swirling clouds, she moves her flute to her lips to play. Stylistically represented in the Indian or Southeast Asian traditional garb of bodhisattvas with high crown, elaborate pectoral jewelry and flowing drapery. The billowing clouds on which she sits have a green patina.
