Unusual Wood Tea Caddy or Tobacco Box in the form of a doghouse with brass nails and door surround and with a brass dog sitting outside. It opens by gently lowering the dog's hinged head which releases the peaked roof form lid which opens to a tin lined interior. The whole is mounted on a plinth base with brass beading. Circa 1870, probably Black Forest.

FinePair of Italian Grand Tour Bronze Candlesticks with nicely detailed foliate decoration and with good patina and fine castings. Having a removable ormolu drip pan above a bronze candle cup and supported by a turned and foliate decorated column with a tripartite scrolling ormolu base and mounted on a tripartite bronze plinth. These would have been brought home as a souvenir by someone who had made the Grand Tour. Italy, circa 1870. Height: 11.25"

Japanese cigarette case / tobacco box, lacquer on copper with mother of pearl inlay of flowers and birds to both sides. Made in Nagasaki and exported to Europe, where it was given as a Christmas present in 1867 - dedication and date engraved to the inside of the box lid. Measures: 6 " / 15.2 x 3 " / 7.3 cm, height 2/3 ” / 1.7 cm. Condition: the lid with cracks and some loss to the lacquer.

DESCRIPTION: An outstanding, solid walnut, trestle-form refectory table comprising four hand-turned splayed legs raised on ball feet, each pair joined by a thick, scrolling wood stretcher. The legs are attached to a solid single-plank rectangular top with two hidden drawers to one side. Beautiful scrolling iron stretchers attach the underside plank with the wood stretchers for strength and stability...

A stunning fine antique Japanese makie lacquer box decorated with a tataki-nuri style black background with makie of vines and gourd and folding fans on the exterior. The interior is decorated in nashiji with a still life of a flower arrangement set in a basket with a charming lifelike rabbit and autumn grass for the inner tray. The vibrant colors and designs are often seen in lacquer works from the Edo and Meiji periods...

Twelve(12) Japanese Brass and white brass Furniture or Box hardware, total 12 pieces, hinges, corners, handles, back plates, etc. hinges(1 3/4" high, handle(1 5/8" wide maximum), other side decorations(1 5/8" wide), total 12 pieces of antiques hardware.

This rope bedframe has warmth which only time and wear can give. It has head and foot boards with some extra touches such as spool posts and turned legs. It retains its bed rails making modernization a plausible option. This bedframe is a very nice example with extra details which the average bedframe of its era did not have. I conservatively date this bedframe to mid 19th century but it could be somewhat earlier, but if pushed I place date to c. 1840...

Antique Late 19th-century beautiful pair of silver plated, Polish Jewish Sabbath candlesticks made by famous maker "FRAGET in WARSAW." The candlesticks are made in the classic Polish "petticoat" style set above and below with skirted foliate knops. Each has a bulbous stem chased at intervals with foliate clusters and bands set on a square base. Measuring 10" high, with square bases measuring just over 4", with scalloped corners, this pair of 19th century Russian candlesticks have robust turnings and are cast in two pieces, the turned stem visible from the bottom. Very heavy, weighing 7 pounds, they retain a nice soft patina, with verdigris visible on the bases. There is some slight variation in the turnings of this pair, and the lip of one of the sticks is slightly thicker than the other, visible in photos...

A very interesting carved and gilded wood panel, found here in Southern California, origin unknown. There are remaining traces of gilding and to a lesser extent, possibly polychrome paint. I have found no writing/labels, and frustratingly, there is no further information traveling with it. The piece measures 15" by 32". I am wondering if it might be of American origin, although in my mind I think it could be French. The wood seems to be pine...
