Fine Qing dynasty 18th century bronze censer with the base. 16,8 cm wide. 11,5 mouth diameter. 10,5 cm high with the base. 8,2cm high (only the censer). Censer in Good conditions. Free from any damage except possible censer has been cleaned. Six character Xuande mark. 1570 gram the censer weight. 360 gram the base weight.

Jingdezhen's monopoly on porcelain production was broken in 1616 when Japanese potters at Arita figured out how to produce their own porcelain wares...

An exceptionally rare turquoise-glazed porcelain vase or flask made in the Jingdezhen kilns, Jiangxi province,China, during the reign of the Kangxi emperor (1662-1722). The neck is decorated with upright plantain leaves, each shoulder with styalized lotus scroll design and applied buddhistic lion head. The central panels front and back feature the Hehe Erxian - the twin Immortals of Union and Harmony - one holding a basket from which has been released a bat, in flight amongst clouds...

Offered is a lovely and rare Chinese porcelain octagonal saucer, dating to the Kangxi period, circa 1720. It measures about 4 3/8 inches or 11 cm across. While octagonal saucers with this general pattern of panels and blooms are sometimes seen, they are typically in white with the pattern in blue. This appears to be a variant (perhaps for the Islamic market) wherein cobalt blue is the dominant color, reinforced by the comprehensive gilding...

Chinese wucai large plate decorated with twin phoenix motive. Kangxi period. 35 cm diameter. Good conditions.

Buddha in very heavy cast bronze. Never been gilded. Very nice natural brown patina. Very well known model of the Kien-long period, which usually are gilded and marked with the reign and sometimes dated and which are always in embossed copper (see an example in my collection n°10). The one presented here is in cast bronze. Good condition, some minor wear and shocks, no restoration. Height: 17,6cm Weight: 1490g

Rare late Ming - early Qing dynasty 17 - 18th century Dehua Blanc de Chine figure of Ang Hai Jie, standing with three legged frog on the shoulder, good condition no chip no crack no restoration, small defect coin ornament on left hand, inner part got thick glaze up to the head, large size in 33 cm height.

A finely potted deep dish, or shallow bowl, well painted in underglaze blue depicting three sinuous Chilong dragons amongst clouds and Lingzhi fungus. This item was made in the early 18th Century during the reign of the Yongzheng emperor (1723-1735). Condition - very good - there is one small shallow under rim chip (please view enlargements 3 & 5), no further damages and no restoration...

1700s

Used for grinding ink sticks to make ink for painting and calligraphy. These two palettes were fashioned on the potter’s wheel from dense, thick porcelain. The upper surface is left unglazed for ink grinding. The circular grinding area is slightly concave and is surrounded by a channel for water used in the ink-making process. Both are incised with a design of stylized bats encircling the perimeter of the body and glazed with a deep, vibrant cobalt blue...

A superb early Qing Shunzhi - Kangxi wucai baluster jar, this large jar has straight neck, broad shoulders with sides tapering towards and flat unglazed base...

Finely worked in satin stich in highest Imperial quality, in different colours with five bats and sound stones . These stand for the five blessings : old age, wealth, health, goodness and natural death. This work of the Imperial Qianlong workshops is most probably a part of an Imperial Qianlong throne cushion cover, later bordered with modern high-quality adornments. Qianlong Period ( 1736 – 1795 ) . The gold adornments 19th/20th century. 37 x 46 cm. Condition : Very good.

Chinese Famille Rose Censer decorated with two confronting dragons pursuing a flaming pearl, above breaking waves, all on a yellow ground. 18thC. Dia. 17.5cm. Ht.10.7cm. Condition; perfect, no damage or restoration.

Width approximately 18.5 cm (across the handles). Height approximately 11.5 cm included the stand. There are a sticker mark and light effects on the body, no patches or damage to the body. At the base, there are erosions, peeling skin, and a skin crack. More pictures are available. In good condition.

A porcelain Kendi with powderblue glaze and decorations in gold, mounted with a silver lid and spout. China, Qianlong (1736-1795). H. 27 cm. Condition: wear to the gold decoration and wear to the silver (see pictures). The silver spout may have had a small lid, that was connected with a chain to the main lid of the Kendi. Note: Many Kendis were exported to Indonesia, it is very well possible that the silver mounts were added there. Provenance: Amsterdam private collection.

An early 18th Century deep dish with very fine porcelain body decorated in underglaze blue depicting a four clawed dragon, amongst cloud scrolls, in pursuit of a flaming pearl. This item was made in Jingdezhen, Jianxi province, during the reign of the Yongzheng emperor (1723 - 1735). Condition - there are two hairline cracks (1.7 and 1.5 inches) and associated chips and frits to the rim in the area facing the dragon's right claw (please see enlargement no. 4). There has been no restoration...

From our Chinese Monochrome Collection, a fine blanc de chine (dehua) porcelain figure of a seated dignitary, Kangxi Period (1662-1722), seated on a low plinth and crisply modeled with an elaborate dragon badge to chest, a ruyi scepter in his left hand, and a pensive downward gaze. Holes under the ears and around the mouth were originally for placement of animal hair to form the beard...

A superbly potted Qianlong Mark and Period ( 1736 - 1795 ) vase with an wonderful copper-red glaze. H : 18, 6 cm. Condition : It was possible to re-glue the broken vase very successfully. Although there is no re-paint to the vase the re-glued areas are quite discrete.
