A Nyonya plate painted with auspicious symbols of a peach, peony and Buddha hand citron. Nyonya wares are over-glaze poly-chrome enameled porcelains made in Jingdezhen in the Kiangsi province of China for the Straits Chinese, or Babas, whose female counterparts are called Nyonyas, hence the term Nyonya ware. Nonya wares were mainly reserved for festive occasions and special functions. Size: W. 23.2cm.

Chinese Qing dynasty Kangxi marked monochrome beehive form water coupe (taibo zun) covered overall in a copper red glaze. The slightly recessed flat base and interior are white. The base holds an apocryphal underglaze blue six-character Kangxi reign mark written in three columns. This is Ming dynasty, Wanli period deep polychrome large swatow bowl. It stands on a short foot rim with a recess base with a double red circle in the centre. From the foot rim, it everted slightly and upwards, and then towards a mildly everted mouth rim.
The flattened centre of the bowl depicts the drawing of the “Hai Ma” shown crossing the seas with bellows of waves. On the outer circle, it is a combination of a series of sea waves and four large waves...

A lovely Jiaqing period floral dish, decorated with good-quality bright enamels. Possibly a birthday dish, as there is a bat (good fortune) and peach (longevity) in the dish center.
Condition: good antique condition, with two rim chips and some fleabites to the foot rim.
Very finely detailed Chinese porcelain shallow bowl or dish dating around 1850. In excellent condition, it has only one tiny old chip or fret on the lip. Measures just under 5.5 inches in diameter and just over 1.25" high.
