This is a very fine and beautiful small famille rose tea pot. It depicts a beautiful summer scence with a pair of pairs, one perching on a tree and the other flying towards it. There is also some bamboo trees, gourd plants and lindzhi to the right of the taihu rock. The scence also depicts a beautiful red poeny flower to the right. To the left and right it depicts a red and yellow crab apple trees in full bloom...

Condition : Not artifically polished like often seen on Bamboo brush pots. Nice, naturally grown patina. Some old superficial dry - cracks. Definitely not a single of these cracks extens until the inside of the bamboo body. Provenance : Old German collection.

Although this very good bowl bears a overglaze red Qianlong mark the piece is most probably from the Guangxu period - at least the decoration of the bowl points to it. A perfect potted Famille Rose bowl brightly rich and colourful decorated to the exterior with a scaly five-clawed dragon in pursuit of the flaming pearl, alternating with descending long-tailed phoenix, all amidst meandering leafy scrolls...

Fine old zuishin dolls from the Meiji period (1868-1912), approx. 8” (20.3cm) tall. Zuishin dolls are commonly called daijin (minister) dolls; the elder man on the right (facing) is called "left daijin" and the younger man, right daijin or ya (arrows) daijin. They were created as an addition to the emperor and empress Dairi-bina sometime in the mid 18th century by Kyoto doll makers. Armed with a sword, bow and arrows, they were the toneri (zuishin) from the Heian court (794-1185)...

By cute-looking spout and simple-form wings, the porcelain pot was applied with glass-sheen glaze all over the surface.
On the unglazed bottom, the dense-feel clay was revealed and was with adhesives of burial earth.
Crackles and abrasions were resulted from incursions too...

This early 20th century yellow vase mounted as a table lamp is 20” high, 6 ¼” wide and 4 ½” in depth. The vase is 8 ¼” high, 5” wide and 3 ½” in depth. On both the front and back, it depicts a 5 clawed dragon floating between the ocean and the clouds. Eight immortal symbols are on both sides.
