Rare yue yao "MISE" large covered box with lotus flower motive. Five dynasties. 18cm diameter, 13,5cm high. Conditions with degradations glaze, hairlines at the center base. Free from restorations.

A Yaozhou lotus-bud bowl was in fine look.
It was well decorated on the surface with carved floral motifs.
The surface was spread with minute incursions which were caused by time.
Looking inside, the body clay was revealed with brownish tint which was an obvious characteristic of oxidation from time.

It is very rare to find a Yaozhou ware in Lotus-Bud form...
This rare Ming Dynasty (1368 ~ 1615) green, brown and yellow burial sedan chair is 12 inches high, 4 ½” wide and 3 ¾ inches deep. Two curved parts on the roof have been reattached. It is quite possible that the top of the roof is an old replacement.
All along the four edges of this bone toggle, there is a carved circular pattern design. This pattern is very similiar to a Yao Ethnic Minority pattern and would be unusual in a Han piece.
The last picture enlargement shows how the toggle would have been used to secure the cords of a hat. The bead would be moved up the cords so that the toggle would be tight under the chin...
This is Japanese porcelain vase from one of the great Meiji artists. It is signed Kawamoto Hansuke. The vase has a wonderful stout shape and is very heavy. It has what appears to be several firing flaws or just an unusual design to several of the flowers. The vase measures 7 1/4 tall and is 7 1/2 inches wide.
