Cup and saucer, both with a flower border in underglaze blue and a peony in the center. The exterior with a light Café-au-lait variation of the brown “Batavia” glaze (Batavia being the Dutch name for the VOC shipping harbour, today's Jakarta). Yongzheng, early 18th century, the base with a shop mark. Diameter of saucer "4 ½ / 11.5 cm, height of cup "1 2/3/ 4.3 cm. Condition: the cup with three chips to the rim and foot rim, two of them with old repairs (cf. pics).

This exciting little piece is a grey pottery urn from the Han Dynasty of ancient China (206 BC - 220 AD). It has a plain but elegant shape with incised line decoration. The surface has light soil encrustations and traces of root fibers from extended burial. There are no signs of repair or restoration. It measures just under 13 cm in height and weighs 618 grams. Late 18th to early 19th century bronze suigaraake (ashtray) netsuke in classic bowl shape with cast decoration on the outside of 2 birds by bamboo stalks with leaves. Very well designed piece, good detailing, functional netsuke shape, hanged by a bronze ring. Nice old piece with pleasant patina on metal, the inside of the still containing ash residue. Diameter 1 5/8 inches.

A rear authentic Chinese Tang Tomb Guardian with beautiful sancai glaze. Chinese believed that there were evil creatures underground and had these type of guardians to protect the tombs. Size: 74cm X 28cm. Condition: In its original state. Some minor repairs but not totally reconstructed.

An interesting scarab carved and polished in steatite stone, probably New Kingdom or earlier, 18th.-14th. cent. BC.

The somewhat stylized scarab finely carved in the base with an eye form.

This offering is a pair of bronze daggers from the ancient Ba culture. They date to the Warring States period (475-221 BC). The Ba people are thought to have inhabited the vast area which today encompasses southern Shaanxi, Hubei and eastern Sichuan provinces and Chongqing Municipality. Depending on sources, the Ba are thought to have existed as a unique culture from as early as the Spring and Autumn period (770 BC) to the end of the Warring States period (221 BC)...

An exceptional, large bronze figure of the seated Buddha, Thailand, KAMPHAENG PHET, 15th. Century.

The figure is depicting Buddha in his moment of triumph over Mara, and awakening into an eternally blissful consciousness. It is rendered in the Kamphaeng Phet style, which echoes that of neighboring Sukhothai, but with subtle differences, such as sharper overall facial features and eyebrows that form a continuous line above the bridge of the nose...
