Of well-portioned ovoid form with high shoulders, quite high neck and extended flat rim,
and applied white slip overall, incised two fishes between water plants,
water plants incised and painted in brown iron on leaves accented, a band of incised lotus
petals on the shoulders, the base unglazed with light sand adhered...
Beautiful long silk panel with exquisite embroidery of dragons, flaming pearls, flying phoenix birds or pheasants all in varying shades of gold thread on deep turquoise silk background, with wide silk black border, Qing era, 18th or 19th century.
Measures: 44" x 8 7/8".
Embroidery on a blue silk background with woven ribbon edging, black silk border with a grey tone woven edge, backing is beige or light tan loosely woven fabric, probably cotton.

This is a small and square jarlet from the Yuan dynasty (1277-1367). It stands on a flat base and rise straight up to a flat shoulder and then towards a small vertical square mouth rim. There are two small lugs on the opposite side of the shoulder. On all four side of the jarlet, there is a drawing of a single chrysanthemum flower in copper red colour. Most of the jarlets found are painted in cobalt blue and it is pretty rare to find them in copper red...

A bronze censer's cap was well cast and was exquisitely carved with beautiful motifs.
On top there's a lion's head with bulging eyes, fiercing fangs and well defined hairs.
At the lower portion, the spiral clouds were above the sea waves.
Under the cap, the molding clay was still reserved for verifying.
It was a fine piece for verifying the excellency of the ancient metal work. The golden metal sheen was an evidence for its fine quality too...
A very rare early Ming 15th century Chenghua blue and white infant human bowl, rounded side with flared rim, straight foot and glazed base, bowl outer wall decorated with fine under glaze blue of infant / human motif, inner center also with a infant / human motif.
Bowl is in good condition no chip, no crack, no restoration, nice blue tone color motif.

Three unmounted vintage albumen photographs dating from the 1880's in Burma (British India). Two depicting Sikh troops, the third British soldiers on horseback. Condition: faded, one with a 6.5 cm long tear and a surface loss, one with a small tear, wavy. Dimension: approx.: 18 cm x 26 cm.
Rare soy brown glazed stoneware vessel made in the shape of a grain silo. This basic style are well documented in Qingbai wares but this is the first I have seen in a brown glaze, also it has a fence going around the base which is quite unusual. It is in excellent condition with no repairs, cracks or fritting of the glaze and it is unusually large. H: 24cm/9.5in and D: 18cm/7in. It reminds me a lot of a Jizhou glaze but this seems heavier and more stable.
A fine lot of Roman bronze antiquities, dating 1st.-3rd. century AD.
Collection comprice of four nice bronze keys or clasps for locks with animal finials, (sizes max 7 cm.), a large Lunar pendant with loop (size ca. 4,5 cm. x 4 cm.), a large clasp for a lock with openwork design (8,8 cm. length) and a finely patinated fibula.

This is a lovely ancient Egyptian Scarab, c. 1200 BC, from the famous Mitry collection (see our Homepage). It is 1/2” long (13 mm) and made of steatite, an easy-to-carve stone that hardens when heated. Scarabs empowered life and resurrection and were often placed under mummy wrappings to protect the body and help it resurrect. This Scarab comes in a jewelry display cup.
Statue of a Taoist deity ("fashi"), in formal attire, sitting on a throne, holding his commandment baton in his right hand and a bowl containing the lustral water in his left. Wood, coated with traces of polychrome painting. Votive box at the back, lid missing. China, early 19th century, maybe earlier. Height: 20.7 cm. Abrasion due to age otherwise very good condition.

One Board thick Elmwood used on each side, front, back and both sides. Half moon shape black iron handles on top of the flower shape backplates on both sides.
Hinagata (sample book of hanten (short jacket) design which is wood-block print. Hinagata is a sample design book and it was for customers when they make orders. The designs are stencil-dyed in the back of hantens which were worn by workers such as shop clerks, fish market workers, firemen and so on. This book is a remake of the original book as the ground paper had many damages so that the original design hantens were cut out and pasted on Japanese paper and newly bound...
Very rare Crowned AMARAPURA Buddha in Royal Attire subduing Mara, gilded wood with lacquer on red patina, finely coloured glass-mirror inlays which point to the early Konbaung Period (1752-1885). The back of the Throne has a niche (opening) used for relics. Carved bamboo statuette representing Shou Lao, Chinese god of longevity. The god is represented standing, holding a peach in one hand and a stick ending in a mushroom Ling-zhi in the other, all the attributes of long life. The carving is precise, as can be judged by the regular parallelism of the hairs of the beard. The sculpture is elegant, the movements of the dress are harmonious and the finishes are of good quality. The bamboo has a nice old patina...
