As in a hidden look, the erotic motifs were only revealed when turning over the bronze plates.
They were well cast in solid form and were preserved in a latter-lade linen wood box.

This is a very fine Japanese cloisonne vase done in the style of Namikawa Yasuyuki. It is not signed but we believe it was made by Honda, another great Meiji era artist. The enamels are rich in color and this heavy vase has a superb high gloss sheen. It stands 4 3/4 inches tall and is in excellent condition.

Jar with pouring spout serving as an important ewer for tea, wine or water. Decor of a dragon energetically painted in underglaze cobalt blue, its eagle claws widely deployed. 4 sturdy handles allow you to hang the ewer. This type of hanging container is made of bronze and was used on boats, hence its name "sampan teapot". The pouring spout was formerly restored. This brass charger is in the shape of an alms dish and has an interior base that is inset with a brass repousse coat of arms plaque that is attached by brass rivets. The dish has an old mottled russet-brown patina overall. It has an old brass loop attached for hanging. Good condition.
