An American Federal Period Coin Silver Creamer or Milk Jug by John McMullin (1765-1843) of Philadelphia. Monogrammed on one side "PJG" with "BB" over it and "MB" under it and the dates 1790 and 1850. These mid 19th century Chinese carved wood statues are around 12 inches high, 8 inches wide and 5 inches deep. They depict two young men sitting on a Qi Lin (or Qi Ren). Their arms are raised up and they are holding gold ingots. Both Qi Lin have a loose ball in their mouths. The workmanship is great, especially the detail of the Qi lin’s faces.
