Six(6) Japanese Gilded on Copper Hardware fittings, early 1900's, 2" wide, 2 1/4" deep include long nail, loose 3 pieces fit together tight once nailed in place. One of them has old black lacquer finish and most of gilt finish worn off, no missing pieces.

This purse is worked in a variation of ladder stitch to form repeating whorl and volute motifs on a silk ground. The inside features two pockets lined with purple silk and orange cotton, with the outer edges fringed with blue glass seed beads to protect against the evil eye. The purse measures 14.2 x 25.5 cm and is dated to the early to mid 20th century. Silk thread and metallic couching on silk.

Old mask with a severe appearance. The position of the orbits is asymmetrical, the nose is long and tapered. The mouth is small open showing small carved teeth. The inner crving is clean and symmetrical with a cavity for the dancer's nose. The ears are sculpted and large in size. The holes for the passage of the carrying links are of conical sizes, certainly indicating that they were made using the technique of the reddened steel nail...

Beautiful black Japanese wedding (Uchikake) in new condition, basting stiches still intact along the sleeves and other areas. The design is from the Heian Era (794-1192AD), imperial cart in pine trees. The gown is particularly well made and look better than our old photos. The colors are beautiful (no color loss), vivid yet elegant.

A Chinese opaque pink glass snuff bottle with red stone stopper. Of circular form, one side decorated in shallow relief with a design of a bird perched on a rock beside waves whilst on the other side is a scene of the sun setting beside waves below a branch of peaches and a single bat. Unmarked.

An old Uzbek textile from northern Afghanistan, traditionally used in the yurt. Each side measures 26 x 40 cm including the wool fringe. It is in very good condition, appropriate for its age and origin. The embroidery is very fine cross stitch ("petit point") in silk thread. The reverse is lined in white cotton. Estimated age: mid to late 20th century. Condition is overall very good, just one minor stain (see first two photos).

This is a woman's shawl from Waziristan in deep magenta, yellow and black, with a woven cotton field on the edges and silk thread throughout. It measures 123 cm in width and 249.9 cm in length. Estimated age early to mid 20th century. Waziristan is entirely populated by ethnic Pashtuns and is named after the Wazir tribe. Condition is good, some staining to be expected from normal wear.

Tsugaru kogin kimono made of vegetable indigo dye hemp whose warps and wefts are hand plied. It is made in Tsugaru region in Aomori prefecture in Tohoku district. Kogin-sashi is one kind of needlework (sashiko), stitches with white cotton yarn go horizontally and make geometrical patterns. A carved bone figure of a man, 7 1/4" in height, heavy for its size, appearing at first to be possibly of Northwest/Canadian/Arctic origin, but research shows that this piece is actually from the scenic popular Indonesia island of Lombok just to the east of Bali. Note the craftsmanship of this hand-made piece. There is the tuft of hair at top, and all arms and legs are movable. A number is written on inside of one thigh. Age is unknown but the piece certainly is vintage and perhaps older.

Vintage glass ojime (slide bead for tightening the cord going from netsuke to inro) in ball shape, its surface covered with concentric “eyes” and dots, suspiciously resembling “Jellyfish Eyes” by Takashi Murakami. Beautifully made, very pleasant patina. Diameter 0.75 Inches.

This mid 20th century carved ivory netsuke of a monkey is 1 ½” high, 1 5/8” wide and 1 ¼” thick. It depicts a sitting monkey holding a fruit branch. The signature is on the bottom of his back leg. It is in great condition.

A hand-emboidered purse from Pakistan, measuring 19 cm x 21 cm. The embroidery technique is a combination of ladder stitch and satin stitch in silk on a black cotton ground. The purse is framed on all three sides by white glass bead tassels. Estimated age: late 20th century. Condition is excellent.

This embroidered panel was hand-embroidered by Pashtun women from southern Afghanistan. It measures 23 x 25 cm and is embroidered in silk thread on a double cotton background.
