This 5 3/4" souvenir spoon of Denver, Colorado depicts the State Capitol , one mile high, in the bowl. On the front handle there is the Brown Palace Hotel, U.S.Mint and the smelter. On the back handle there is General J. W. Denver, Indian camp, First log cabin in 1859 and panning for gold in Cherry Creek.

An unsigned 10 ½ inch tall colorless decanter decorated with 6 reserves with gold enameled intaglio flowers. A long woman’s summer obi made of thin silk, woven in jacquard and openwork techniques with chrysanthemums or asters interlaced with fences of plaited bamboo leaves. On this, in Yuzen dye technique, imitating an ink drawing, several areas painted with cart wheels floating in waves.

The sophisticated designer arrangement of murrine in this paperweight is notable. The leaf murrine can be found in other Toso paperweights. The green center of the flower murrine is nicely tied in to the leaf motif. The murrine are cased in crystal and this lattice type layer of murrine gives the weight a nice airy quality. Measuring 3.75 dia. x 2.75"h., the paperweight is in excellent condition, unmarked.
