Our best and earliest bronze travellers icon. A very early and attractive bronze travellers icon, made way before the Ban on bronze travellers icon making by Peter the Great in 1722. This icon dates to the 16th. century with the fine renaissance style. Note the fine loop, decorated with the head of Christ.

Authentic antique, Russian (The Grand Duchy of Moscow), a rare version of the Orthodox Byzantine double-sided cast bronze pectoral cross pendant, circa 15th- 16th century AD. The obverse, cast in relief, has the image of Christ crucified on the cross; under the arms are letters of the Greek alphabet, OV and MP, an abbreviation of the Greek Mater Theos (Mother of God)...

A porcelain napkin ring molded with Neo-Rococo scrollwork in blue and gilt, a present for “G”. Vieux Paris / Old Paris Porcelain c 1870, unmarked. Maximum width "1 ½ / 3.8 cm, inner diameter "1 ¾ / 4.5 cm. Condition: fine.

Demitasse black and white coffee can and saucer by Bodley & Co in Staffordshire, c 1870. The pattern, numbered 3438, is of various whimsical silhouetted scenes – a charging officer and fusiliers, firefighting, dueling with walking sticks, an arguing couple, a fat guardsman etc. Impressed mark Bodley. The deep well of the saucer makes the ensemble into a “trembleuse” – a design that made it easier to move the cup from one place in the room to another...

A pair of octagonal dessert plates by Copeland, the edges dented and gilt. Japanised, “Aesthetic” decoration of brambles or blackberries, transfer printed and hand painted with some gilt over part of the withered leaves and berries. Diameter "9/ 22.8 cm. The back with the impressed curved mark used by Copeland from 1860 to 1880, and N80, probably for November 1880. Condition: fine.

Antique Chinese Mandarin porcelain tea caddy and lid with polychrome decoration of figures on balconies and an applied fruit form knob. Circa 1790.

It is rare for these Export Caddies to retain their original lids.(chip to underside of lid.)

Victorian Classical sterling silver loving cup, ca 1890. Baluster bowl with flared rim and raised foot. High-looping capped double-scroll handles. Exuberant embossed and cast ornament with scrolling leaves and scallop shells contained by fluted frames. Fully marked including maker’s (Frank W. Smith) and retailer’s (Theodore B. Starr) stamps, no. 1334B, and volume (6 1/2 pts). Very good condition with deep patina.

Edwardian Classical sterling silver trinket box. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York. Oval with upward tapering sides and hinged scrolled cover. On sides applied ribbon-tied garland. On cover top chased scrolls threaded with garlands overlapping central reeded frame (vacant). At ends stand two quiver bearing cherubs balancing fruit baskets on their heads. Gilt interior. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, pattern no. 14930 (first produced in 1901), and director’s letter T (1892-1902)...

Pair of Lancaster sterling silver ice tongs. Made by Gorham in Providence, ca 1900. U-form with beaded stem and floral terminal. One jaw ovoid and scalloped with ornamental piercing; the other a cast claw with five talons. A nice early piece in this pattern, which was first produced in 1897. Fully marked including maker’s and retailer’s (Shreve & Co.) stamps. Condition: Nice definition. Taut and springy.

Maintenon sterling silver serving tray. Made by Gorham in Providence in 1923. Oval with leaf-capped and -mounted c-scroll side handles. Well has engraved beaded oval frame (vacant) in garland surround. Tapering shoulder with chased scrolls and flowers in alternating wide and narrow curvilinear frames. Imbricated leaf rim. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, date symbol, pattern name, no. 10217/1, and letters “CCQ”. Very good condition.
