Incredible pair of antique staffordshire horse head brackets/shelves or sconces. Approximate size (accurate measurement on request) 10" by 7". Cream colored horse heads (similar to color of palomino) with gold gilding and a jockey cap with crossed whips/crops with large horseshoe projections. Beautiful detailing, beautiful eye (see photos). Excellent condition with some crazing and a superficial line in horseshoe which is most common in these old staffordshires...

A large, heavily potted English pitcher with an applied strap handle. All of the strong floral decoration is handpainted except for the blue flowers which where the paint was stamped on with a cut sponge. Though it could be earlier the later date of circa 1880 is conservative...

This Victorian serving piece is a small sterling silver ladle made by Whiting and perfect for pouring a fruit sauce over that special dessert. It has a lovely square shaped gilded bowl with a scalloped rim edge and shell ribbing and beaded handle, monogram ESC, maker's mark "W", a winged griffin, "Sterling, PatAppp For", measures 6 in; very good condition with age appropriate wear to gilt.

This porcelain trembleuse chocolate cup and saucer was produced in Bohemia by Carl Knoll in the 1880s. The saucer is 5 ¼” in diameter. The cup with lid is 5 ½ “ high and 5” across the handles. The set is hand painted with Watteau scenes on the lid, the cup and the saucer. The hand gilding of fish scale design, was a laborious process. There are additional accents of rich gilding and trim. The finial on the lid is a flame and the handles are Meissen style split branch handles...

A Staffordshire Sugar and Creamer in the Chinoiserie fashion. There is a design inside the sugar bowl which complements the outer design. There is a design in the lip of the creamer as well as outside the creamer. An elegant set of 12 sterling silver oyster forks in Dominick & Haff’s desirable 1880 “Kings” pattern. The handles are decorated in the Georgian style with scroll, acanthus and shell motifs. A very rare set of six sterling silver demitasse spoons in the "Holly & Mistletoe" pattern by Tiffany & Co. This is a more ornate variant of the company's more common "Holly" pattern. This attractive antique full length 18K watch chain has alternating carved ornamental solid gold by-pyramid link (what we call a "fancy" link) which connects to a pair of linked rings, which connects to simple solid gold by-pyramid link. The C1880 chain measures 59 inches long. It can be worn in various lengths, doubled or tripled, with a locket or pendant, or just as is, shown in the images below. A screwed in bolt clip allows you to add a pendant, if desired...

This mid 19th century folk art crazy quilt is a wonderful mix of richly colored silks and hand embellished surface stitches. The back is a green cotton sateen fabric tied with floss. Eighty seven silk tags create a whimsical border around the entire piece. Taken from a house used as part of the Underground Railroad during the Civil War, we believe this piece was the energetic work of a child learning how to sew. A well decorated, monogrammed and marked hard paste porcelain plate. The outside border is decorated with a narrow peach ground and elaborate gilding with green dots and red lines. It includes a monogram dominated by the letter "R." The center of the plate is decorated with a hand painted white morning glory.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Doulton Burslem in the 1890s. The saucer has a diameter of 4 ½ inches and the cup is 2 ¼ inches high. The set is made of fine bone china. The cup features a puffy blown out shape and an art nouveau style handle. The type of decoration is known as “Spanish Lace”. A pieced cotton quilt in a pattern called, “Goose on the pond” probably from the mid-West and made in the late 19th century. The pattern is made up of pattern printed blue, orange and white fabrics. The same orange fabric is used throughout, but the blue and white are made up of different prints. The quilting is diagonal lines. Cotton seeds in the stuffing visible through the back. Front edge turned to the back. All hand stitched. 72 inches square.

Twelve eight pointed stars made of cotton printed in orange with small yellow clover-like shapes arranged in rows of twos and threes with alternating white squares all enclosed in three bands of the same printed fabric. The outside band is turned over the edge to join the white cotton backing. Cotton seeds visible in the stuffing. All hand stitched. Dating 1869 is this lovely English dessert set by Henry Wilkinson & Co of Sheffield. Fully hallmarked this great find for the admirer of fine antique Sheffield silver plate. Condition is commensurate with age and use. Fork measures 7 inches long, knife is 8.5".

A Large Victorian Silver Plate Fish Slice Set with Ivory Handles, by Atkin Brothers, Sheffield, circa 1880. The Ivory Handles are slightly mellowed and have age splits in each handle. The Fish Knife is a large 13" and the Serving Fork is 10.5", both with etching and piercing. Th knife is signed HA EA FA, for Atkin Brothers. Overall in excellent condition.

A striking quilt in a deep red and black. Most importantly the quilt has, stitched on its reverse, "Sarah amd Anne Hoit, Burlington, VT 1838". It also has, stitched at a later time, "A Present to O. Sherman 1881". It is very uncommon to find a quilt, especially such an early one, with such complete information as to the maker, place and date. The piece is approximately 82" square, with the cutouts being 16" square.
