These memento boxes were popular at the end of the eighteenth century and frequently given as tokens of friendship and love. Usually oval in shape, but also circular and rectangular, the decoration reflected the popular styles of the day. For example, by the 1790s Neoclassical style swags, doves, hearts, and borders were the most commonly used decoration of the day. This one reads "The Absent Not Forgotten."

Lovely handled silver plate tray with center crest and beading all around the edges. It is simple but lovely, with plenty of room for a large tea set. It is hallmarked on the back (see photo), and in lovely condition. It measures 23 1/2" long without handles, and 28" long including the handles, which tilt upward, by 16 1/2" wide.

Antique over 200 years old, from 1823, massive German pewter lidded beer tankard stein.

It features a tapered cylindrical shape with molded rims, a "C" section handle with a squared-off terminal, and a flat, domed hinged lid with a ball thumbpiece.

The stein lid is engraved with the inscription: "Die PilgrimSchaft Derd Der Sterblichkeit," along with the date 1823. The stein is marked underneath with the maker's and the town's touchmark...

We love the pleasing niello design of the dotted squares on these substantial cufflinks. The word "niello" is a derivation of the Latin word for "niger" meaning black. Niello was an ancient of silver decorative technique revived by a German jeweler in Paris in the early part of the nineteenth century. It is done by engraving a design on the silver, and filling the recesses with an alloy of lead, copper, sulphur, and silver...

A large (11 3/8 inches wide and 3 1/4 inches high) signed applied-threaded center bowl made by Steuben around 1920. Except for some expected scratches at the bottom, it is in fine condition (no missing threads). Polished pontil. Made with rib-optic glass, the bowl is signed with, 'Steuben' inside the fleur-de-lis signature (the signature is extremely faded - please look at the 12 o'clock position of the last picture).

Offered is this beautiful English glass and sterling silver collar box (hand-painted with Alphonso Mucha-type romantic scene on a mother-of-pearl cover). The box is 5 inches (12,5 cm) wide and 3 inches (7,5 cm) high and is in good condition. The sterling is marked, 'T. M. & Co' and has English sterling hallmarks).

Offered is this beautiful, geometric-patterned, cameo-cut glass bowl or vase, made by Thomas Webb & Sons of Stourbridge, England. Made on two-layered cased glass and having a clear applied foot, the bowl is 4 inches (10 cm) wide and 2 inches (5 cm) high. It is in excellent condition. Signed on base (see last picture).

Offered are these two beautiful, hand-painted Victorian glass ewers. The amber-colored thumbprint jug is 8 3/4 inches tall and 6 3/4 inches wide. The Mary Gregory one is 8 inches tall and 7 inches wide. Both ewers were blown (has pontil-bottoms - see last two pictures) and are without chips, cracks or repairs. Both jugs fluoresce a gentle green when exposed to long-wavelength black-light, showing that they are made of late 19th century soda-lime glass blanks.

Offered is this very rare 'Diamond glass' (produced by blowing compressed air), English glass vase, made around 1850, most likely by Ricardson and may have been designed by Thomas Webb (when he was still at Richardson). The vase is 9 inches (23 cm) tall. Overall, the blown (has pontil), cased-glass vase is in good condition (as are typical of these vases with glass applications, there is a small flake on the applied flower and a short discontinuation on the applied limb - see pictures)...

This handsome case, highlighted by black niello enamel, could be used for various things, including business cards. It has a flower motif on both sides, and space for a monogram on one side, should you wish it. It is marked (and tests as) sterling silver. It measures 3-7/8 x 2-15/16”, and weighs in at 4.92 ounces. In excellent condition. The elastic may be a replacement. We believe this case is pre-1920, but would welcome other opinions...

Offered is this beautiful double-handled glass vase, hand-decorated with fish and water vegetation - though unsigned, in all likelihood, it was made by Moser. Polished pontil. It is 7 1/2 inches (19 cm) tall and is in excellent condition.

A beautiful, hand-painted, seven-piece water glass set, made most probably by the Bohemian glass-maker, Carl Hosch, a contemporary of Moser. The set is decorated with typical art nouveau floral motif. The set is in very good condition (there is one nick on one glass and a couple of pin-pricks on another). Polished pontil. The jug is 12 inches (30,5 cm) tall with a base width of 5 1/2 inches (14 cm). Each glass is 8 inches (20,3 cm) tall and has a top-diameter of 2 1/4 inches (5,7 cm).

An ornate Bohemian glass box with jewels, made by Moser around 1885. The green-colored box is 3 1/2 inches (9 cm) wide and 2 3/4 inches (7 cm) high. It has yellow/amber colored jewels on it. The hinge opens and closes fine. Except for a missing jewel / chip on the top (see last picture), the box is in very good condition. A rare and beautiful Signed Steuben Aurene sugar pot (with etched and acid-cutback flowers and branches, and a sterling cover). The glass piece is 3 5/8 inches tall and 3 1/4 inches wide at the bottom. Good condition. Polished pontil. Signed. Cover marked, 'Sterling' and the glass is marked, 'Aurene'.

An S Kirk and Sons sterling silver repousse nut serving bowl and matching spoon. The 6-1/2" diameter bowl and 5-1/4" long spoon both have the high-relief floral repousse work this quality American silver firm was known for. It is on on the bowl's rim and on the spoon handle and in the bowl, which also has a relief scene of fruit including pineapple, grape, apple and strawberry. The spoon's bowl measures 2" across. Both pieces have a fancy S monogram, and each is stamped S. KIRK & SON STERLING....

This chrome and wood kettle on a stand was produced in Meridan, Connecticut by Manning and Bowman with a patent date of 1904. The kettle and stand together are 12 1/2 inches high. The kettle, from spout to end is 11 inches. The kettle has a rosewood handle and knob. There is a rosewood fitting in the base of the stand which holds an alcohol burner to keep the kettle hot. From our Fine Arts and Americana Collection, a very fine example of late 19th - early 20th century intaglio cut crystal, depicting a floral wreath on one side with floating flowers on the other side, “jeweled beveling” to the rim and foot, and all very well-cut and elegantly made. A nice addition for fin de siecle crystal and glassworks collectors. This piece is actually a lot prettier than our pictures seem to capture: We find crystal pieces like this very difficult to photograph well.

This set of 6 crystal wine glasses was produced in the United States by one of the fine manufacturers in the 1890s. They are not signed; therefore we are unable to identify them precisely. They are 5 inches tall and 3 inches wide. The crystal is hand blown with bright clarity. The stems are hollow with a teardrop. The cutting is very intricate with hob stars and cross hatching. Lovely large hinged cut glass box with flowers on both top and bottom. It is in perfect condition with no chips, cracks or repairs, but the rim could use resilvering. It measures 4" tall x 8" diameter at its widest point.

Tiffany and Company sterling silver large stuffing serving spoon with family crest. Size: 12.25" long. Circa 1902-1907 (Charles Cook's directorship). Stamped with pseudo hallmarks as well as with the Tiffany & Co. sterling stamp. Excellent condition, with only some superficial scratches.

A very good cut glass vase by Clark in the "Iris" pattern. The lower third and the flared rim are cut with elongated hobstars flanked by mitred triangles of strawberry diamond cutting enhanced with fans; and the neck is cut with panels of printies alternating with notched prisms. The base is cut with a 20-point hobstar and has Clark’s script acid signature. The pattern is either "Iris" or a variant of “American Beauty”. The cutting is very precise and the polish is excellent.

A very fine Imperial Russian lacquer box by Vishniakov. The lid is decorated with a winter scene showing an empty troika, still tethered to its horse, located just outside a snow-covered log building. The scene is beautifully detailed. This porcelain vase was produced in France by Sevres around 1900. It is 6 3/4 inches tall. The porcelain is fired with a deep red flambé type coloring that has mottled black shading.
