A fine example of early American folk art. Generally classed as fraktur type, paintings such as these were done by children, and were often, as this one was, painted on a page from a ledger or notebook. This particular piece is a charming depiction of an eagle, and is housed in a period frame with good surface.

Offered is this rare hand-painted 'Collars and Cuffs' lamp, made by Wavecrest around 1890. Overall, the lamp is 22 1/4 inches tall. The bottom glass part is 7 3/4 inches wide and 4 3/4 inches tall. The top glass shade is 9 inches wide and 7 1/2 inches tall. The chimney is 11 3/4 inches long and 3 1/2 inches wide. The lamp is in very good condition and the electrical wiring is in good condition (there is some age-appropriate tarnishing to the metal parts)...

This porcelain trembleuse chocolate cup and saucer was produced in Germany at the Royal Porcelain Manufacturer, Berlin, between 1830 and 1840. The saucer has a diameter of 5 1/2 inches and the cup is 2 7/8 inches high. The cup has two handles and the saucer has a reticulated gallery attached to it to hold the cup in place. A large and heavy 8-1/2" Georgian Dublin sterling silver dinner fork, hallmarked for 1829. This heavy fork has an attractive double dolphin crest on the back of the handle and has the maker's mark for Matthew West and Peter Moore. This porcelain tea caddy with lid was produced in Germany by Sitzendorf in the 1890s. The tea caddy measures 6 inches high, including the lid and 5 inches across the handles. The ground color is deep cobalt blue. The reserve on the front is hand painted with a mischievous looking cupid with his bow and arrows. The painting is finely executed with bright colors and fine detail. The scene is framed in a raised gold cartouche. The back of the caddy has a gilded lyre or harp in raised gold...

This porcelain plate was produced in England by Royal Crown Derby in 1890. The plate measures 9 1/8 inches in diameter. The fine bone china is decorated with a Persian inspired design. The pale pink ground color is decorated with elaborate raised gilding. There are burgundy cut-outs outlined in beaded gilding and white enamel jewels. The design is dazzling. Condition: There is minor wear to gilding on the rim that does not affect the beauty for display.

A lovely sterling silver fancy serving fork in an unnamed Art Nouveau pattern by the Baird-North Co. The handle is beautifully decorated with a thorny vine of wild roses. The back is decorated in a simpler design of roses. The splayed tines are ornately pierced. A fork of this shape would probably have been used to serve bacon, but it might also be useful for cold meats. The reverse is marked “Sterling/Pat. 1903”...

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Royal Crown Derby before 1906. There are date ciphers for 1904 on the saucer and 1906 on the cup. It would be within the Edwardian period. The saucer has a diameter of 4 7/8 inches and the cup is 2 1/8 inches high...

Crackle glaze baluster vase with decoration of flowers and scrolls in panels in the Imari palette: underglaze blue, iron red and gilt. The vase is heavy, with thick walls and a wide band around the foot. Japanese, Edo c 1720. Height "7 2/3 / 19.5cm. Condition: the mouth rim ground (the vase might have had a metal fitting) and there is a faintly yellow shade to part of the shoulder (no restoration).

This is an elegant 19th Century Victorian ivory page turner, the handle embellished with delicately carved flowers and C scrolls. The Victorians used page turners to protect the pages of valuable books from damage; they were also used to protect the hands from newsprint. Measurement: length: 12 inches. Condition: excellent; no chips or cracks; some yellow age spots on the blade.

Saint Dunstan sterling silver water pitcher. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York, ca 1910. Globular with high-looping and capped handle, helmet mouth, and reeded foot ring. Beautiful European car dish made using the "aqua-fortis" technique which is a type of etching. In this technique, plates of copper, steel, zinc, etc. are covered with a varnish and then blackened with black-smoke. A hand tool is used to remove the varnish, exposing the raw metal. The varnish is then covered with wax. Nitric acid (aqua-fortis) is spilled onto the surface will corrode the parts devoid of varnish. Inscription reads F. BOUCHER , PASTORALE. Circa 1900.
