Set of 12 extraordinarily rare sterling silver lobster forks by Puiforcat. Both the handles and the blades are silver and are fully hallmarked with the 1st standard mark, the maker's mark and the town mark. The handles are simply decorated with acanthus leaves and beading. This exceptional wood carving of a Santos was made during the early 19th C. and was executed with bold strokes with great impressiveness. The central figure is giving the sign of Christ while holding a black object - perhaps a globe - in his other hand. He is clothed with a coral colored cape, buff tunic, and black boots with gold outlining. Standing atop a sphere, he is surrounded by an oval frame - underscoring the deep relief of the carving. A fine example of First Period, Dr. John Wall, Worcester botanical fluted porcelain bowl having a blue rim decorated with gold. Mark on bottom with Sotheby’s sticker. This bowl is a rare survivor of this early period and is in excellent condition. Circa 1755-1774. Measures 6.5" diameter, 3" high.

The 2nd. and largest of a set of two pewter charger or dishes, Germany, Danzig, with Coat of Arms and initialized and dated 1640.

The lovely piece was made by the Michael Bunde, working for Michael Braschke, was maker in his own right around the early 1640s.
