A Toddy or Punch Ladle in Sterling Silver by Gorham in the rare Louis XIV pattern, for Theodore B. Starr and Herman Marcus. It is in a bent ladle shape (may have been straight originally, but more likely it was based on designs in the George III period) and dates from about 1870, when the design was patented. It weighs 6.4 Troy ounces and measures 8" x 5", with a bowl of 4.5" x 3.5". Its unbent length would be 14.5". There is a monogram "N" on the underside of the handle...

A wonderful and uncommon Worcester Scratch Cross period high-footed silver form sauce boat of desirable small size. This charming piece has a scroll handle with an upturned thumb rest, the body molded with scroll panels painted with "strutting birds" near a triangular fence and flowering rocks.

There are no markings on this piece but we have seen the exact design on other items identified from the Copeland factory. A handsome pair of sterling silver sugar tongs from the reign of King William IV. The sides are decorated in a classical late Georgian shell and thread motif. The quality is very fine. The interior have pristine hallmarks for London, 1834-35, and the maker’s mark for William Eaton.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany around 1900. Saxe was the name used on products Charles Ahrenfeldt exported from Germany for American retailers. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/2 inches and the cup is 2 inches high. There is a cartouche on the front of the cup that has hand painted exotic birds.
