A unusually fine example of a scrambled weight by the New England Glass Company. The weight includes latticinio twists and millefiore canes. The set-up includes a complex red, white and blue cane (visible through the concave bottom of the weight) formed of a heart silhouette surrounded by stars. The canes are tightly packed for a very nice appearance. The glass is quite clear.

Origin: America, circa 1870. Condition: very good, a few small surface nicks on the crown, no cracks...

Porcelain beaker decorated in transfer and polychrome enamels with scenes from St. Louis, Missouri. The scenes include Eads Bridge, Municipal Courts Building, and Union Station. These glasses were made in Bohemia and Germany from the 1890's until World War I. We are also offering similar glasses featuring Boston, Cincinnati, and Mackinac Island. The bottom is marked "Made In Germany".

Great example of a Durand champagne glass with ruby red cup and foot joined by an ambergris stem. The cup, stem and foot are nicely ribbed and measure 6 inches tall. The cup is 4 3/8 inches in diameter and the foot is 3 1/16 inches in diameter. The foot has a rolled rim and has a small polished pontil mark. This example is pristine.

Rare Art Deco box circa 1900-1920. The top displayed geometric design in pewter and tortoiseshell. The sides and bottom exhibit lovely relief of flowers and birds.

Early 19th century Bohemian hand blown and skillfully engraved small glass beaker from Baden. The engraved inscription reads: “Trinkhalle in Baden” (Drinking Hall at Spa Baden).
CONDITION: good, no chips, cracks, or repairs.

This porcelain box was produced in Germany by Meissen in the late 19th century. It has first quality crossed swords on the bottom. The box measures 4 1/2” long, 3” wide and 2 1/2” deep, The lid had a finely hand painted bull finch bir perched in a blue berry branch. The coloring is vibrant and the style realistic. Little flying insects dot the bottom half of the box. The rims are trimmed with gold. Condition: Very slight wear to gilding on edge. There are no other defects.

This is a beautiful, French cameo glass vase, made by DeVez, a contemporary of Daum Freres of Nancy, France. The banjo vase is 6 1/4 inches (16 cm) tall. The vase is in excellent condition (there is a fabrication flaw on the top rim of the vase, typical of hand-made items - see last picture). Polished pontil.

This porcelain vase on stand was produced in England by Royal Worcester in 1878. The date letter indicates this year. It vase stands 5 7/8” high and is 5 ¾” across the handles. The piece appears to be in two pieces, the bowl on the top and a stand on the bottom but is it made in one piece. The Asian inspired shape and design evolved from the Aesthetic movement. Friezes of gilded peonies and a gilded bird in flight, surrounded by flowering branches decorate each side of the bowl...

A very rare set of six sterling silver demitasse spoons in the "Holly & Mistletoe" pattern by Tiffany & Co. This is a more ornate variant of the company's more common "Holly" pattern. The handles are decorated on both sides with holly and mistletoe foliage and mistletoe berries. The elongated bowls have notched shoulders and are parcel-gilt. The spoons are fully hallmarked and have the date letter used 1873-91...

This porcelain slipper or shoe was produced in Germany by Meissen in the 1890s. It has first quality crossed swords markings under glaze. It measures 6 1/2 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide and 2 1/4 inches high. The porcelain is hand modeled in the shape of a Persian style slipper. The ground color is deep cobalt blue. There is a reserve on the front of the shipper with hand painted flowers, realistically painted in vibrant colors. It is framed with an elaborate hand gilded frame...

As mentioned for other similar items on the site, this type ware is often mistakenly referred to as Leeds and featheredge. In reality, many factories other than Leeds made items of this nature, and the type edge here is more properly called a molded edge. This particular plate was made by Riley, and is indicated as such with an impressed mark on the back. Being able to identify the maker does increase the value to some extent...

A Gorham sterling silver miniature chamber stick or candle holder dated 1891. This Victorian era ornate chamberstick stands 1-5/8" high and it measures 3-3/8" across the base. It is stamped with the lion/anchor/G mark, along with STERLING 181 and the year cypher for 1891. Although a dainty size, these small candle holders sat on a writing deak or in a travel writing desk, as they had the practical use of melting sealing wax for an envelope or document...

This porcelain parasol handle was produced in Germany by a Dresden manufacturer in the late 19th century. It is unmarked but the workmanship is definitely from Dresden. It is 5 1/2 inches long and the knob is 1 1/2 inches in diameter. The ground color is cobalt blue. The knob has a scene of lovers in a garden inside a cartouche of ornate raised gilding. A beautiful and striking pair of American folk art pastel still life paintings. The fruit is laid out on a green table, and wonderfully executed. The black background provides superb contrast and highlights the radiance of the apples, pears, grapes, peaches, etc.
