An antique Japanese Tansu chest called a Gyosho Bako (peddler's chest) made of Sugi (Cryptomeria) wood. All original hand forged iron hardware. Two pairs of rings on each side used to rope the Tansu to carry on ones back for peddling wares from town to town. The front hinged door secures 7 drawers used for inventory storage.

Plume & Atwood manufactured this delightful glass oil lamp c. 1870 possibly a little later. It consists of a shaped white terraced base supporting a brass stem which in turn supports the amethyst font embossed with flowers and scrolling stems. The burner assembly is brass. The lamp comes with a hurricane chimney with crimped top. The wick, I discovered late, is in the font. The lamp proper is about 11". The condition appears to be excellent though the burner has some minor warping...

Late 19th century brass whale oil lamp featuring a very unusual footed base with a delicately decorated edge. Has a chain for which to add a wick trimmer, snuffer, or other accoutrement. A wonderful piece for the collector, it is very good condition. Measures 19" high and 6.5 " square at the base.

When we say that these candelabra are "le fin de siecle" we are referring to more than their late 19th century manufacture. They are superb example of Baroque style lighting which befits a place begging for a fine appointment. One(1) French Ormolu gilded bronze Candelabra with four(4) lights, 21 1/2" high, 8 1/2" x 8 1/2" wide-maximum measurement, each have matching separate removable original bobesche, supporting by main reed column on three(3) animal paws on the base. Some gilding is worn in the middle of column area. No damage or restoration.

A pair of low candelabra in the Louis XV style with rococo lines and flowers. They were probably gilt originally but now have a gilt like patination. 10 inches (25.5 cm) tall and 12 inches (30.5 cm) across the arms. French 19th century.

Condition: very good with the newer patination. One candle cup held in place with a newer screw.

French Rococo and Louis XV features inform the design of these candelabra which sit on a a footed sinuous base with ornate embellishments from which rise intertwining stems whose sinusoidal arms support separately 4 sockets and bobeches. The finish is gold patination of which there is modest loss. The base is constructed of 3 pieces. Other than the previously noted finish losses, the candelabra are in very good condition. An exceptional gilt bronze candelabra in the rococo fashion, with 5 arms plus apex stem providing 6 lights. Antique Late 19th-century beautiful pair of silver plated, Polish Jewish Sabbath candlesticks made by famous maker "FRAGET in WARSAW." The candlesticks are made in the classic Polish "petticoat" style set above and below with skirted foliate knops. Each has a bulbous stem chased at intervals with foliate clusters and bands set on a square base. Each candlestick is fully marked and signed with the inscription "FRAGET N PLAQUE" (meaning "FRAGET SILVER PLATE ON ALPACCA"), placed in an oval.
