A Chinese court necklace (Chaozhu). The necklace is composed of one hundred and eight red agate beads spaced with three lapis lazuli beads. The lower part is decorated with a lapis lazuli and jadeite combination bead (fotouta), a flat oblong crystal plaque suspending a golden hair crystal drop, and three strings of lapis lazuli beads suspending similar enameled-metal mounted golden hair crystal drops. Late Qing Dynasty. The necklace is in excellent condition.

Chinese 4th Rank Court Official's silk badge of a wild goose. The background is black silk and is embroidered with very fine metal threads. The sun and its tendrils are silver foiled threads tacked down with red silk threads. The flowers are also silver but tacked down with green silk threads. The flowers appear to be white chrysanthemums, a symbol of nobility, elegance, and longevity. Each child holds different items, such as a lantern, a staff, lily pads with lotuses, a paintbrush and an ink pot, and they wear beautiful robes in light shades of blue, pink, purple, and green that are quite pleasing to the eye. The lid is painted with pomegranates and peaches and is topped with two peaches with six leaves sticking out, making it look like a cute insect...
