This marked, rare, fish decorated bowl comes from an old German colletion. The condition of the glaze of the bowl is so perfect and glossy that it simply is impossible that this bowl is an excavated piece. The glaze of this bowl is so much better than the glaze of excavated pieces so that this bowl must be an rare unearthed piece which already in very early times - maybe hundreds of years ago - came to Europe. From our Chinese Blue and White Collection, a charming little export ware teacup and saucer, late Kangxi to Yongzheng Period (1700- 1735), with loosely painted floral motifs both on saucer and tea bowl, all executed in an attractive blue.

Size and Condition: Saucer 5 1/2 inches in diameter, teacup 3 1/4 inches across, 2 inches tall. Small nick to lip of teacup

Decorated with a plantain leaves in the center and floral spray on the outside. W=12 cm. Early Ming 1368-1398. Condition : excellent, no chips, cracks, hairline or restoration.

A stunning HONGZHI (HUNG-CHIH 1488-1505) DEEP Rich Yellow glazed dish with rounded sides supported on a tapered foot, the interior incised with an Imperial 5- clawed Dragon amidst Ruyi Clouds, encircled by a band of motifs. The exterior is decorated with auspicious symbols, applied overall with this deep/rich, yellow, shiny glaze. The base has the 6 character HONGZHI Mark. Size: 8 3/4" diameter x height 1 3/4"

A pair of unusual late 19th Century relief moulded cylindrical shaped hat stands painted with panels depicting gentlemen with attendants in a garden landscape, the borders are decorated with Buddhistic precious objects and flower sprays reserved against a yellow ground. On the base is the four character iron red seal mark of the Guangxu emperor (1875-1908). These are probably Nyonya wares, made for export to the Malaysian "Straits Chinese" community ...
