An "egg and spinach" biscuit-glazed porcelain incense/taper stick holder modelled in the form of a Buddhist guardian lion. These items were made both for the domestic market and for export to Europe circa 1690-1710 during the reign of the Kangxi Emperor.
Condition - The upper jaw has been repaired and there has been a very old loss ( possibly during the making) to the top of the incense holder...
Two small Ming jarlets. Sort of wabi-sabi, but no major damage. There are some surface glaze firing cracks and fritting on the mouth rim on the larger jar. Larger jar D: 6.7cm/2.7in and H: 5.3cm/2.1in, smaller jar D: 5.8cm/2.3in and H: 5cm/1.9in.

A rare and large 'Fahua' ware temple vase with thickly potted, with main decorated of a pair of Phoenix flight among clouds below lotus stiff leaf and Ruyi pattern. Attached two horizontal dragon handle with associated rings. Lower part with waves pattern and precious emblems to foot. Rich composite of yellow, turquoise, white, aubergine on dark blue ground glazed. Condition is perfect without any chips, no crack and free from any restoration. A pair joss-stick holders with Buddhist lions standing on a leave-shaped base and a single one with wooden stand. Made of biscuit porcelain and glazed in the "sancai" palette. Dating to the Kangxi period (1662-1722). Condition: the balls of the male lions are lost, both with small restorations, the bulging eyes of the beasts with glue residues, one lion with small flake on the tail. Dimension: pair height: c. 10.1 cm, single one: c. 15.5 cm high.
Late Ming Dynasty, 1500s
This deep bowl is stoutly potted, being rather heavy toward the base, with the wall thinning gradually to the slightly flaring rim. It rests on a tall, thick footring, with a deep base that is glazed down to the dense, white porcelain paste that is exposed with some kiln grit adhering. The design in underglaze cobalt blue is of chrysanthemums, grasses and three stylized bats...

Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue & White Porcelain Bowl (mark)
This attractive and very interesting blue and white porcelain bowl was made in the 16th century. It is decorated in underglaze blue of very good colour. The centre is decorated with a male figure standing next to a deer. The decoration to the outer wall is quite elaborate and includes a varied landscape, two male figures and one female figure. To the base is a mark (not translated).

A nice piece of Ming dynasty blue and white bowl of a pair of Foo lion dog chasing after the rattan ball with ribbons. In the center of the bowl, it has a symbol of a swastika in the form of clouds. It stand on a short foot rim with a recess base and then everted upwards. This is a nice piece not to be missed as such good quality bowl are hard to come by
It has only minor chips at the rim as shown in picture 5 (one chip) and 6 (two chips) which are not very noticeable...

Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue & White Porcelain Bowl - Birds
This attractive blue & white porcelain bowl was made during the latter part of the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644). The underglaze blue decoration around the outer wall depicts a varied landscape that includes a bird (stork) in flight, a bird sitting in a tree in blossom and a winged insect. The inside of the bowl is decorated with a blossoming flower.

From our Shipwreck Ceramics Collection, a charming blanc de chine Guanyin from the Vung Tau Shipwreck circa 1690-1700 (Kangxi Period), one of only 30 ever recovered from this wreck and in this sense quite rare. The Vung Tau Shipwreck refers to a cargo ship of Chinese ceramics that sank in the waters of the Can Doa Islands, nearby to Vung Tao Vietnam between 1690 and 1700, where it had briefly stopped to re-supply on its way to Batavia (Jakarta Indonesia)...
