Superb little agate lotus design brush washer. Hand carved and polished natural color stone, it has russet/orange skin in the areas carved with curling edges and the design is complete with an incised center area and fully worked underside showing stems, pods, leaves and flowers. The surface polish is first rate and this is a very desirable piece. Includes original fitted hardwood stand. Dates late Qing to early Republic. Brusher measures 3.75" x 3". Chinese Tang Dynasty Painted Pottery Soldier Figure
This pottery figure was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). It is "heavily-potted" and made from a buff-coloured pottery that has been "cold painted" in a creamy-white pigment. It represents a warrior wearing armoured clothing and a hooded cloak.
It is of a good size with a height of 30 cm (12 inches)...
