This is a fragment from a Tibetan gilt copper mandorla, one of the side pieces that would have surrounded the central statue/figure. It measures 9-1/2" in height and is 3" at its widest point. The design, as the photos will show, is in four registers, with the Buddha uppermost. The workmanship is of excellent quality as, hopefully, the photos will confirm. There is a tiny split in the left edge so that the top panel could become detached if the piece were handled roughly...

Charming votive folk embroidery, from the Saurashtra area of Gujarat, made by the Kanbi farmers caste, circa 50/60 years old. The two ply field is woven from all hand spun rough cotton thread; hand dyed silk thread and small glass mirrors. Ganesh is flanked by two female consorts and his “vehicle” of mice beneath him. Antique Mughal Indian Islamic cast bronze water pipe (Huqqa) base North India or Deccan, 17th-18th century.

It has a drop-shaped form that tapers to a bulbous point. The octagonal beveled sides have an aperture on top and the shoulder, and the top is embellished with a band of concentric fluted patterns.

MEASUREMENTS: Height: 15.7 cm (6.18 inches).​

CONDITION: It displays signs of wear and age with a dark brown patina on the exposed areas, a result of centuries of use.

A very fine quality antique 19th century, Islamic, Indo-Persian, lacquered papier mache bowl of lobed circular form, with a scalloped rim on a raised circular foot. It has 26 lobed petals superbly hand-painted in gold and various pigments with flower sprays, foliage, and teardrop-shaped paisley motifs. The lower rounded body is finely hand-painted with floral sprays and perching birds (gul-o-bulbul, roses and nightingales). The interior of the bowl is fitted with a brass lining.
