Japanese early 20th century bronze Ikebana flower container. The container has a pair of dragons done in high relief on the front and back. The entire piece sits on 4 legs. The container is signed by the artist on the bottom. The piece measures 16 1/2" long, 14" wide and 6" tall.
Japanese silver mounted Satsuma buckle painted with a traditional pavilion besides the water's edge with mountains in the distance, Meiji period, circa 1910. Beautiful Japanese mizuya (kitchen tansu), all keyaki front with very dramatic grain and original red-orange tranlslucent lacquer finish, 2 sections with an unusually tall top section including 4 separate compartments covered by sliders and a series of 5 small drawers; bottom section has a large compartment with 4 sliding panels and a row of 9 drawers.

Japanese Meiji Period large bronze vase. The vase is a stylized chrysanthemum blossom, with the leaves at the base and the long petals reaching up and forming the main portion of the large vase. Unsigned. The vase measures 23 1/8" tall and 10" in diameter at the widest.
Strikingly beautiful Japanese Nishijin obi. The style of the obi is the most formal and expensive style which is called maru obi; the design covers front and back, from one end to the other end. This is an older obi than it looks. The colors are vibrant yet elegant. The design
is for the joyous occasion with cranes, hand drums, flowers, pines and repeated pattern of waves (sei kai ha) in gold.

This kind of Kanzashi is called Gin (silver in Japanese) Kanzashi. The body is usually made out the stronger mixed metal as this one. The darkened metal flowers are tarnished silver, I believe. The bira bira Kanzashi started to become fashionable in late 18th century, Edo Period and this set is from late Meiji to Taisho period, early 1900s.
