This is a Northern Song - Jin dynasty cizhou sancai dish with incised lotus design, with green and brown colour enamel. It stands on a short foot rim and then everted into a u-shaped body. The centre of the dish is incised with a single lotus flower with a large open leaf below it. Nita A ring of skulls playfully sojourn on the front of this rather unusual deep Edo Karatsu Chawan. On back another pair tumble helplessly over the thick speckled glaze. The base is bare earth, dark and shiny with age and handling. The skulls are not just resist painted on, but are actually incised, the eyes and nostrils set deep into the southern clay. The bowl is 3-1/2 inches (8.5 cm) tall, roughly 4 inches (10.5 cm) diameter and is in excellent condition, enclosed in a wooden box.

What a fantastic expression worn by this Edo p. Seto Hand warmer (hibachi or properly Shuro/ Te-abure). The dark shiny Seto glaze suits well the beast portrayed. Coals would have been burned inside, heating the surrounding pottery walls, and the piece would have been placed on a step leading into the house for guests to warm their hands on or used within the house in a more formal room. Description: A big Qingbai bowl was elegantly carved with motifs of dancing boys amid scrolled cloud. Believed as being a product from famed Hutien kiln of Jiangxi province of 9-12th century, the bowl was in pale blue tint and was in very good condition except one faint hairline at the cavetto(about 6.5cm that in half way to the cavetto). Oribe Green runs in a curtain over the pale yellow glaze of this Edo period andon-zara oil dish. It is unglazed on bottom, measuring 8 inches (20 cm) diameter and in excellent condition, enclosed in a custom kiri-wood box.

A humorous looking dragon twists up the paper canvas, eyes on the prize, a tama or Buddhist jewel underlying a dramatically written inscription. What is extraordinary is that the dragons scaled body is performed with a single stroke of the brush! Over this has been added a shadow for the back, and embellishment of the head. It is signed Fujiki Shuchokusai, and comes enclosed in the original signed and age darkened wooden box...

This bell is approximately 200 years old and was used on the camels crossing Tibet, NW China into Mongolia. It would be worn on a strap and hang loose below the camels belly between the legs. A light shake and the sound is deep and long. The bell in picture is 13" long and has a leather wrapped handle.

Description: A white-glazed Bowl of Ming dynasty was from sea wreckage. Kept though in perfect condition, the outer surface was partially loss of glaze and left with some yellowish incursion. Description: A lavender-tinted Jun bowl was shaped with straight wall. Before applying the random strokes of purple splashes, one on the outer wall and another at the inner side, the ancient potter must had been dipping the bowl in the glaze so swiftly as to leaving the body in the cavetto partially unglazed like the bottom side.
