The playful form of this pottery work by the ever lively Yangaihara Mutsuo seems to be overfull with joy, weeping out from the bottom to form a puddle below. It is enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Kuro Oribe Choko and dated 1992. The vessel is 39 cm (16 inches) tall, 19 x 17 cm (7-1/2 x 7 inches) across the base and in excellent condition. This is a rare opportunity for one of the more greatly collected artists of recent years.

Pair of mentori, faceted style vases by Shigaraki master potter, Kohyama Yasuhisa (b. 1936). The vase on the left side of the photos is an early Shigaraki mentori vase that was wood fired in his first anagama kiln, the vase on the right is a Hakuyu glazed vase, glazed with a Hagi style white glaze which Kohyama uses to this day on his "standard ware" functional pottery. A dark charred Chosen Karatsu kamahen Mimitsuku Mizusashi by Nishioka Koju (b. 1918) enclosed in the original signed wooden box. All is deeply coated in thick burnt ash.
