A wonderful tea bowl by important Mino artists Ando Hidetake enclosed in the original signed double wooden box titled Ko-mino (old) Chawan. The feldspathic glaze has been burnt and changed by contact with the flame, the crystallized surface varying in shades from yellow to pale green. This is a great example of the style of this artist who is known for radical textures and natural effects...

Once again Abe Anjin has proved his mastery of traditional form with this superb rendition of Momoyama styling. Impurities in the clay mar the surface and pale ash dusts the shoulder with raw clay hints of yellow flash where flame has licked the body...

Expressive form utilize the clays natural textures to bring out the depths of the Oribe green, and electric shimmers of blue flash on the surface in random patterns like heat lightning. A spectacular and voluminous Tsubo by one of the most important Japanese Artists Koyama Kiyoko enclosed in the original signed wooden box.
