Joseph Pennell 1857-1926 American This is an original pencil signed lithograph by American artist Joseph Pennell. He traveled down to Panama in 1912 to record the building of the Canal. He created a series of lithographic images from that trip. This image is titled: Steam Shovel in the Cut at Bas Obispo , created and printed in 1912. The image measures 16 7/8X22 1/4 inches, printed on a Fabiano watermarked laid type paper. The overall sheet size is 25 1/2X20 1/2 inches.
